Yep. Typo. It actually still says 2.2. I am redoing the installer right now to read 2.3.

You all will not need to redownload it for just that. You can actually add that yourselves in Notepad, just change to 2.3 so you know for future reference.

CF,

Sounds like you are missing textures in the main 'texture' folder, namely and mainly, 'Chrome_T.DDS' Make sure thats in there.

Have you tried redownloading it and reloading the FSX version?

Water landing

One thing I've noticed when making an amphibious landing - there are no water splash sounds as the floats hit the surface of the water. Am I missing a sound file somewhere? Feels a little weird, that's all.

Also on the installer, for 64-bit Vista it points to the Program Files directory instead of Program Files (x86) which is where FSX is normally installed by default. No big deal, I just had to browse to the correct directory, but some may be caught unawares installing this if they run 64-bit Vista.
 
The sound "issue" is due to the fact that the Kodiak sounds are aliased to the defauld C208 sounds, and to my knowledge the default Caravan should not be landed on water. :)
The installer "issue" is not Vista 64bit related. The installer defaults to the Program files folder. It does not search the registry for the path.

Ah, OK. I could have sworn there was an amphibious default Caravan sound somewhere. No problem, I'll use my Beaver X splash for this.

i do have that file, i will try d/l again and see if there is a change
 
fs9 is good, the trouble is fsx.
i haven't tried the re-download yet, nor have i checked for the reflective textures thing. that will be my next thing.

any word on the prop tuning at high altitude?

I think I found out what that was about. If you purchased through PC Aviator, you have version 2.1. Up until yesterday, they had been selling the 2.1 version.. arrgh.. Thats why you had no prop adjustment and we did. Thats 'if' you had the 2.1 version..
