Really liking these old wood and canvas jobs of late. Joe Binka's Antoinette ports over nicely.

No thick manual to sweat over, just fire up the lawn mower engine and off you go. :)

Don´t know what kind of lawn mower you have, but the ones I know, don´t usually have a V8 engine^^

Thanks for the heads up Moses.

Must be a Massey Fergussen lawn mower. :d

Yes the Antoinette is a really sweet aeroplane to potter around in. Lots of time to take in the sights and simply ewnjoy being airborne. She, along with Jean-Michel Castagne's Bleriot, are two of my most favoured aeroplanes.

Bu then, I luv anything that has wire and canvass in it's makeup! :icon_lol:

seriously though, i always thought the guys who flew those planes were lunatics. they're basically flying a powered kite. bravery or nutbar? somehow it's cool either way.

They were brave to get in those aircraft in the early days of flight. They new the risk but the passion overtook that fear! Nice looking aircraft!!!

you could say the same thing about pilots nowadays, flying at insanly fast speeds at insanly low altitude with nothing but an electrical system stopping you from hitting the ground and the only backup is a bit of canvas and string. :)

Or flying the latest gen fighters that are designed to be inherently unstable and are controlled by a series of computers in order to achieve predicable flight.:isadizzy:

I noticed that someone repackaged it for FSX as well. Not familiar with the "Nor-Cal Prop Club"?

FSX Antoinette Type VII. The Antoinette Type VII Monoplane has been considered by many to be the most beautiful aeroplane of the period. Few Antoinette Monoplanes were built, but one, owned and flown by Hubert Latham, a master of the type from England, made a number of famous flights in the U.S., including one across the Golden Gate and over the cities of San Francisco. Original model released as Public Domain by Joe Binka. Packaged for FSX by the Nor-Cal Prop Club.

Have attached the prop disk I am using in the screenies if you want to try that. I think it's one of BananaBobs.

Can somebody recommend more this kind of oldies for fsx? The best ones?
