Tailwind Released!

Bill,
thats a nice variation of the tailwind :applause:
when will you release it to existing customers ?

Tom

Thanks Tom,

This will be out in the next updates, included with the package. It will feature at least 3 new paint schemes designed for the Tri-Gear. It will also have some engine and airfile handling characteristics improvements as well, such as 'even less' drag from flaps, (still seemed a bit high) and increased fuel range.

If you like Tri-Pacers and BD aircraft, you'll love this one. :d

Noice!:medals:

Thanks guys,

The Tri-Gear is cleaner looking. Looks like its moving just sitting there. Handles great on the tarmac as well. Just dont go too fast and you wont flip it over its nose on a tight fast turn.

Just finished the FSX version yesterday, added a couple of more paint schemes.

I am going to add some of my own Addon paint schemes to the total package for people that do not have them yet. It will make the package larger to download, but I think its worth it. I like everything to be as contained as possible.

Trike landing gear? Woo-hoo! When you buy a Lionheart aeroplane, you get the extended warranty and free servicing on top! :applause::applause::applause:

Hey Lionheart,

What aircraft is that on your avatar? Is that one of your new (NEW) babes?

Eli :running:

Hey Eli,

Nope. I wish. That is a base SOH original Avatar. Its the Horten Ho229. I cannot reset my own Avatar presently. I am locked on that option until Ickie gets back. A few of us are 'without Avatars'.

But! We have SOH back! Thats the important part. Now to make sure we get Ickie back!

:d

Another paint scheme that will be featured.

That tricycle looks the business! The posture looks like it's a serious, go-getting, aeroplane:engel016:

If Batman flew the Tailwind, this would most likely be the scheme on his bird.:wiggle: Will be in SOH library soon.

I had to use my imagination on some parts that don't show very well on the photo I used as a reference, but I think it turned out ok...

Comes with white leather seats and black leather door panels.

BTW Bill, is that the surprise TW model you were talking about? Looks like a pretty rare thing.:icon_lol:

@scotsman: I can make this with Aussie reg also, and upload it to aussiex.org.

That is a very sexy scheme Pekka! Is it uploaded anywhere else?

Man Pekka! I am glad you made that one. One of my favorites. How on earth did you do the little black ribbings on the wings? Some nice painting techniques there....

Bill

Hi Pekka,

That really looks awfully good, however, it would look even better with an Aussie-reg :wiggle:. Seems that noone is going to paint a W10:kilroy:. I sometimes miss the AP and some additional speed.

Mike

Seems that noone is going to paint a W10:kilroy:. I sometimes miss the AP and some additional speed.

Mike, I promise I'll make (at least some of) my future paints interchangeable with both models, since it's possible:mixedsmi:. And you can use autopilot with W8, it's not in VC, but there's an avionics pop-up panel.

scotsman, in must all cases the W8 repaints can be used with the W10. I know, because I use them on my W10 all the time. If there are any issues, such as some with interior textures, you can either modify them, or use the interior texture files from another aircraft.

This is true. The W10 and W8 use the same texture sheets.

For the exteriors of all models, there is a LH wing, RH wing, Fuselage, and Tail. Thats 4 texture sheets. Rudders can thus be intermixed with other aircraft texture packs. However, the rudders are not shared in a sense. There is a W10 rudder and a W8 rudder on the same 'Tail' sheet. So if the W8 rudder is only painted, and you use it in the W10, then the W10 will have a non painted rudder. But 10 to 1, the base color is the same as which the texture sheets layers are designed to work. (Change the base color, and all sections in that layer change).

As for details like the cabins colors, etc, those are done with mainly the W10 Cabin sheet, W8 Cabin Sheet, and the cabin2 and cabin3 sheets. The W10 and W8 Cabin sheets have the side textures for the interior. Cabin 3 has the panels (for VC's) and the seats. Red seats, black seats, etc, will be on the various texture packs 'cabin3' texture sheets.

Now, the overhead cage framework, the T-bar control yoke, and the seat belts are on the Mechanicals sheet. For instance, the red belts in the HotRod will be red in the Mechanicals sheet in its texture pack.

All totally modular and ready to be interchanged completely. You could easily make a new texture of 2nd hand parts by creating a new texture folder, naming it something, and taking sheets from all textures and grouping them together into the new folder, and assigning it a Registry in the config file. Black wings, wood interior, red fuselage, red tail section....

Well, you get the picture...

Bill

Hey Bill, saw your 1.4. Did you change anything to the W10 "panel.cfg"? If not, I'll keep the one I modded to use the Aspen EFD1000.
