Tailwind Released!

Hey Bill, saw your 1.4. Did you change anything to the W10 "panel.cfg"? If not, I'll keep the one I modded to use the Aspen EFD1000.

Hey Wombat,

No changes to the panels. Only modified the configs, Air files, added the Tri-Gear, and added some texture packs.

Load the package into a TEMP folder and do a manual drag-n-drop of the new files so your panel configs arent over-written.

New fixes include;
* Engine now properly tones down from 100% throttle downward.
* Flaps drag lowered
* Fuel burn lessened for more realistic endurance

The Trike is cool. :d Sort of a mix between a BD4 and a Piper Pacer.

Note; I am going to bed, so there will be a delay for OK'ing the PayLoadz redownloads for those of you over the other side of the pond.

scotsman, in must all cases the W8 repaints can be used with the W10. I know, because I use them on my W10 all the time.

The "biggest" problem making the paints interchangeable probably is the different door panel lines between W10 and W8 fuselage paint. If I make paint with W8 doors, they will not align well with W10 model. Probably the solution would be to leave those lines out of the paint completely or make alternate fuselage-tiles to match both models.

Great job on the TriCycle model Bill, it's one serious go-getter:applause::applause:.

By the way there's a mysterious black cube hovering in the VC of the Trike

Yep... rats rats rats rats... I thought I had taken care of that. I have repaired it, and I am redoing the installer as I write. It should be online in one to two hours..

:banghead:

For those that have already installed the entire thing, email me and I can send you the revised tri-gear files so you do not have to redownload the entire thing. Again, this will not be up for a couple of hours.

Correct. But for those of use that are 'handy' with Photo Shop, or similar, editing these to work in the W10 is not too tough...or, you can simply replace the interior textures from another aircrfat, as I mentioned earlier.

all I can say is I'm loving all these re-paints for the Tailwind :applause:

Now....I gotta get that update...after it is fixed!

The door lines I'm talking about are outside and it would take some clone stamping to get them right. But if you do it in the painkit it's just clicking one layer on and another layer off.

And for those waiting for my Black&White "batman" paint, it's included in the latest Tailwind 1.4 installer

Downloading now... I'm anxious to see that trike version! Hey Bill, I noticed a tiny cut-and-paste casualty in the purchase section of the Tailwind page on your site. Next to the Flight1 option, the copy references the Kodiak instead of the Tailwind. It's a minor thing, but I figured you'd want to update it.

Now I'm off to split the skies in my new tail-non-dragger. :icon_lol:

Thanks Bill. Off to check that right now.

Okay.. the latest from the paint shop. Based on a real vintage scheme, I just modified a bit to my liking. I'll make sure this can be used on all three models.

Here's seen with the Trike model:

After this I just gotta take a break from my painting hobby and actually go fly these babies LOL

Fantastic re-paint Pekka.

Bill, everything is working great with the update, it is really nice to have the sound issue fixed, and the fuel consumption seems very close to the numbers I have been able to find, albeit that info is hard to come by.

And the 'trike' looks geat as well.

Thanks for all your hard work,

Brian

Thank you gentlemen! It's now up, all models covered. I actually ended up doing separate texture folders for every model, not the most cost efficient way, but logical.:wavey:

Noticed that if there are stripes that go over or under the hood they align differently in W8 and W10. So there's one reason why all paints don't work right off the bat on both models.

On my way to Telegraph right now in the Kodiak, but will grab my repainted Tailwind when I land :icon_lol:

Goodness has it ever been great flying weather around Tongass the last couple days!

Just purchased this bird and simply love it.
Great work!Thank you.:173go1:
There is another Oldie i would love to see in FSX,
the Beechcraft D17 Staggerwing.
Bill,if you have nothing to do at the moment......
:greenf:

Pekka,

That paint scheme is brilliant! I love it!

Sorry about the mis-mapping between W10 and W8 fuselages. Because of the side windows, I had to use diff fuselages. Most of the rest of the aircraft is identicle except that and doors.

Man, that looks like a factory plane now, lol... Nice work Sir.

:medals:
