He most likely exceeded his allotted bandwidth for the month. At 290MB a pop it doesn't last long. Luckily for those who don't have a copy yet a new month begins next week. Following the procedures outlined above for using a common texture folder and then repackaging would help in that regard for the next month.Has anyone else by the way noticed his site has gone offline? :X
ok, here we go
refer to post #140
1. create a 'texture.common' folder and copy the 26 common textures into it (I've kept vetvol.bmp as an unique texture for each repaint)
2. delete these common textures from the repaint folders
3. create inside each repaint folder (but not inside the texture.common!), a texture.cfg file containing the text:
[fltsim]
fallback.1=..\texture.common
4. each repaint folder has a sub-folder called 1024x1024; cut and paste the 6 bmp files from this folder to the repaint folder, deleting the 6 dds related files
5. (optional) rename the original 'texture' folder as 'texture.2-EA', but don't forget to change the [fltsim.0] texture entry of the aircraft.cfg file...
Now you have 26 files inside 'texture.common' and 12 files inside the repaint folders. Go to the recycle bin and see how much memory you're about to wipe out from your system!
I hope this makes some sense!
Ive just done this and it worked great, except for one thing, the centre tank what texture file is it that controls that!
PS: Having read your thoughts about the upcoming A2A F-4 Phantom, I hope you don't mind me using an F-4 patch as avatar.
Cheers, Henk.

Well, there's no rule for the case that his site goes offline, so maybe one could "bridge the supply gap" to help spreading this masterful piece of freeware... *Halo of innocence*
