• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

I have been struggling for the last 24 hrs with an odd syndrome. I can post on the forum, but cannot attach images (the option is not where it should be below the Reply box). I cannot get any line or paragraph breaks, or smilies, and worst of all, cannot send PM's. Can someone tell me what the **** is going on, even if it is just a case of my dementia coming on early ? I have logged out and wiped cookies but that doesn't make any difference. As I am approaching the magic 1000 posts, I really don't want that 'wiped' either. Somebody tell me the solution, please, even if it's euthanasia.

Mike , I checked your settings and all are fine in the Admin. user profile from what I can tell. What program or site are ya using to post the pics or attachments.
 
I am accessing the site in Firefox 3.0.13. Have had no problems up to now. I have not tried to link pics to Photobucket, but trying to use the normal attachment process. It is very odd.
 
Have you tried logging out, clearing the cookies and signing back in? This has cured some minor bugs for me in the past.

Try this just for fun

Try accessing the site in IE7 or IE8 and see if you have the same problem.

This should tell us if the browser is the culprit. Then we can search its settings to find out why those options are blocked.

If that doesn't help...

Tearing my hair out now. On my laptop, also Firefox, no problems. I have tried running Firefox Safe Mode, but the it still refuses to let the forum tools function. OK, so do I really have to switch to IE to get my posts to work properly ?
 
I don't use FF (don't shoot me!), but here's a thought... If the security settings are controlled by an ini file somewhere, what's to keep someone with a working setup from sharing a copy of the ini?
 
Mike I know for fact what I am getting ready to tell you will work for sure. Tomorrow morning start drinking heavy at 12:00pm....by 6:00pm you need to have put away a case of beer and chase it down with Whiskey...after you finish with the case of brew and the fifth, turn on your pooter and go from there....everything should be fine now. :ernae:
