I wondered what would get me out of my A2A "Cub". Well the A2A F4U has gotten me back to the Nimitz/Eisenhower flight deck. This is a great Corsair and at $13.49 is the best deal since the Louisiana purchase. Okay, that's maybe a little over the top...but it is very good deal. I love "flying" this airplane.

Cat launch settings

Copy paste this into your aircraft.cfg directly under the [LIGHTS] entries it will add cat launch to the Corsair and so you can see the hook up point switch on your lights and you should see a green light close to the deck just in front of the prop, that light is what you need to get onto the shuttle, press your Shift+I keys and you should be ready to launch.

light.3 = 3, 10.423, 0.0, -9.42,fx_navgre //launch_bar_lug

[launch_assistance]
launch_bar_pivot = 6.433, 0.0, -3.522
launch_bar_lug = 10.423, 0.0, -7.42

after pasting the above into your aircraft.cfg the bit we are concerned with should look like this

[LIGHTS]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing, 6=taxi, 7=recognition,
8=wing, 9=logo, 10=cabin
light.1=4, -5.1, 0, 2.0, fx_af_f4u_vc
light.2=5, 0.4, -17.3, -1.9,fx_shockwave_landing_light_tail_old
light.3=3, 10.423, 0.0, -9.42,fx_navgre //launch_bar_lug

[launch_assistance]
launch_bar_pivot = 6.433, 0.0, -3.522
launch_bar_lug = 10.423, 0.0, -7.42

As to the arrester bit I took at face value what a reviewer said about a nasty noseover and applied a cure before actualy testing it, since testing without the cure as Skippy never mentioned noseover it seems ok to me.
The arrestor is built into the model hence no [TailHook] entry in the aircraft.cfg

Please let me know if anyone suffers the noseover syndrome and I will look again at it, still checking the stopping distance.

Sorry should have asked in the previous post could anyone who tries it give some feed back, positive or negative as to whethere it works for you or not, works ok or it's crap will do

Many thanks

The arrested stopping distance is fine as far as I am concerned relevant info in the pic so I will leave the arrester bit alone.

The ship is the upcomming HMS Victorious but the deck is my own mess for doing arrester calibrating and cat launch testing and will not be part of the release version the 4 numbered lines represent the 4 wires stopping distance ignore the blue it was from a previous test on a different aircraft.

Look at the top right corner you will see the touchdown details, Wire caught,Speed and descent rate.

The Corsair has a small bounce tendancy so watch it

Luca,

There were none the hook is in the model so does not need a entry in the aircraft.cfg, there is no cat in the model so I added settings in the aircraft.cfg which gives cat ability

Hi! Which are the coordinates for Acceleration's hook and catapult?

Thanks!

Best regards,
Luca

So can I take it no one tried it ? it did'nt work so will not bother answering ?

It is a bit disheartening when there is no feed back and makes it look like a execise in time wasting when people asked for the settings.

Luca, thanks there should be no reason for it not working it does on my setup but it is nice to know it works for others too

Hi Rich,

Trust me, I will provide feedback, just rushed off my feet and haven't had chance to try it yet...

I agree, there is nothing worse than silence! Apologies for that.

All the best

Andy
