Just unbelievably good. It what everybody wishes Flight Simulator would be. I wonder how big an area it covers. I suspect that it would take a powerful machine to run it. Even in the video I saw a couple of places where the frame rate lagged. I wonder what kind of computer they used to make the movie.

Some shots from their site appear to use photoreal textures above the tree growth line on the mountains. I think it also said on the site that the major cities have photoreal textures.

I have to play devil's advocate here. Don't get me wrong, I love their work, especially the airfields, but sometimes their outlying scenery doesn't get me. Some of those shots sure look just like default scenery at dawn or dusk with REX on for effect. The default scenery can look impressive under those conditions. I buy plenty of their airfields, but I have yet to buy their regional packs for this reason. Their free demo of tasmania turned me right off. It's not bad, it's just not worth buying to me. If anyone wants to see what I mean, check out the lakes right in the middle of Tasmania.

Other products -- Tongass Fjords, Ultimate Terrain X -- are better at rendering water contours. What I like about the region packs -- and I don't have any of the payware airports -- are the replacement texture tiles: rich colors, lots of detail, highlighted with autogen. Mind you, I think the default tiles are pretty good too.

Im in love. Anytime you can get Orbx, Holger and Bill collaborating on something.... I consider it already a done deal before the release is even out.

Excellent work and I am always in awe of the production quality of your work Cody!

Now @ the team...gratuitous begging.... you guys should think of doing the Southwest next... think how much easier it will be having to add much less in the way of trees! :icon_lol:

The video did the talking, and frankly I am disappointed. You do great work Cody, please don't take this post the wrong way. It's what you do quite well and please, this is not a personal attack against you.

But these are harsh times economically for many of us, and I'd like to see something straight forward and way less over-emphasized. That was too hyped for my taste, my apologies.

I want to see this package in normal FSX conditions. I want to see what this gal looks like in broad daylight not the romantic light of dusk. I want to meet her mother first. I want to see what she is really going to look like down the road. :icon_lol:

And quite bluntly to Orbx, I'm tired of seeing "Sold Separately!". You want to sell me this fancy car, you better include the tires, or make me an incredible deal to want to buy those tires separately. :wavey:
