One of Piglet's masterpieces

SOH-CM-2024
And another example how the input of many have made a great sim airplane even better.

I had never paid attention to it until now, but Piglet's prowash is black with yellow tips. I made a new one that is solid black-green with a metal retainer and attached the zip here.

After one cleans the german Shepard puppy bits from the massive greenhouse and gets all that is required for the new virtual cockpit, then uses a good Argus engine package (I used Lionheart's Bu-181 sound, but Gunnar's freeware Bf-108 sound works well also).

This is "still" one of my favorite airplanes for mountain and STOL flying. You can practically drop in in any hole on earth. :icon_lol:

Got to admit it's been while since I last flew the storch, bin too busy playing with trash hauler type things. But this evening went up for a spin and instantly remmembered why the storch was always one of the first to be put into my hanger on reinstalls. Piglet did justice too a great aircraft.

Goodness man! That landing was too smooth on the exterior view...!

Nice flying..

That is a jewel. Tim did a great job on that one.

Bill

A little long for the Storch :mixedsmi::mixedsmi: but smooth as butter. Kidding mate..

One of the best flight demos I have seen was back in Germany with winds at about 20-25 kts and the Storch basically hovering in for a zero roll touchdown.
I do love Piglets version for checking out new scenery and just joyriding around...I guess on flights where other folks would use a whirly bird.

If anyone happens to have a link of the Radial engined french version of the Storch I would appreciate a hint.

FS2004 Morane Saulnier 500 and 505. A frequent visitor to many airshows, the Morane-Saulnier 505 (actually a radial-engined French-built derivative of the well-known Fieseler Storch) mostly impresses the crowds not with its speed but with its slowness! In a reasonable headwind, it can actually fly backwards related to the ground or touchdown with virtually no ground roll. Two models made completely in Gmax with dynamic shine, reflective textures, full suspension, custom 2D panel, working VC and includes eight liveries. By Guy Hulin.

Oh yes, the Cricket is excellent claudius. :applause:

For the complete works of Piglet's Storch, there are better VC and 2-D panels.

You will need all three of these files from Flight Sim:

fi156mpa.zip

Thanks guys.....that is just the one I was looking for.
Also thanks for the updates on the Storch...think I did apply those in the past.

Especially the Luftwaffe ones are really "must haves".

Cheers,

All this talk of Luftwaffe paint schemes got me too finish up on a few strays that where hiding out the back of the paint hanger. they will be uploaded in the next couple of days.

Celebrities ...

Hi,

It was two special "Storch" in WW2

Otto Skorzeny Storch
then taking off with Mussolini and Skorzeny (even though the weight of an extra passenger almost caused the tiny plane to crash) then on to Vienna, where Mussolini stayed overnight at the Hotel Imperial and was given a hero's welcome. The Storch involved in rescuing Mussolini bore the radio code letters, or Stammkennzeichen, of "SJ + LL" in motion picture coverage, for propaganda purposes, of the daring rescue.

Hanna Reitsch Storch
During the last days of the war, in light of Herman Goering's dismissal as head of the Luftwaffe in what Hitler saw as an act of treason, he appointed Colonel-General Robert Ritter von Greim as head of the Luftwaffe. To enable him to meet Hitler, von Greim asked Reitsch to fly him into embattled Berlin.
Red Army troops were already in the downtown area when Reitsch and von Greim arrived on 26 April in a Fieseler Fi 156 Storch. With her long experience at low altitude flying over Berlin and having already surveyed the road as an escape route with Hitler's personal pilot Hans Baur, Reitsch landed on an improvised airstrip in the Tiergarten near the Brandenburg Gate (Greim was wounded in the leg when Red Army soldiers fired at the light aircraft during its approach). They made their way to the Führerbunker where Hitler promoted von Greim to Hermann Göring's former command of a now wholly defunct Luftwaffe. During the intense Russian bombardment, Hitler gave Reitsch a vial of poison for herself and another for von Greim. She accepted the vial willingly, fully prepared to die alongside her Führer.[2] On Hitler's orders, she escaped Berlin with von Greim during the evening of 28 April, flying the last German plane out of Berlin shortly before the fall of the city by climbing through heavy Soviet anti-aircraft fire. Hitler had ordered them to rendezvous with Karl Dönitz, who Hitler was convinced was rallying troops for a counter-attack
