DD26 - Golden Age - DH.80 Puss Moth

Puss Moth Maroon is Grounded

I have Officially Grounded NC09DD Maroon Puss Moth.

Why you may ask...

My next leg is a long one. We are going to stretch the limits of human endurance. (not really :icon_lol:)

Next Saturday

So you may find me flying a little tiny leg on Team Melrose.

I look to resume my journey November 21, 2008

uh oh.. DD's going to see REAL airplanes??

will he be overcome with the 3-dimensional appearance?
Will he be baffled by the fact they are larger than 18" from nose to tail?
will he ever return to the reality of FlightSim?

These and more questions may be answered in the upcoming days...

20 Days in Singapore :isadizzy: Man what a hang over!

Gave myself just enough time to finish a few other projects too.

Now its time to hit the road :running:

WRKK awaits

Now that's some serious flying in the spirit of C.J. Melrose. :ernae: :applause:

Can you imagine being cooped up, no bathroom breaks, no coffee, no snacks for 12 hours with no auto pilot. Yikes!

I have a much keener hold on what it might have taken to pull this off.

I would also add there would have been more concern about navigation than I have to deal with.

The Puss Moth would not have had radios, no drift meter but probably much better charts than I have. The odds that he was concerned about where he was would have been very good.

Now back to my trip.

Since I left Singapore the weather has been in my favor until now.

Its cloudy the visibilty below me is probably the standard 6.2 sm of vis and I have an ever so slight head wind.

Still all is good should be in Darwin around 12:30 est.

Regards...

Some championship flying by you Dave.

One more thing young Jimmy had was that fact that he was 19 yrs old.

I don't event want to start thinking about the things I did at that age.

If I tried to do them now, I would suffer with broken bones in most cases and probably have a heart attack trying to do the others. :icon_lol:

Good fortune across the "Outback" and into Melbourne.

Down and safe

Good thing Darwin has a NDB on each end of the run way. I could not see anything until I had the lights at 800'

Not quite so bad the winds have been all over the place but all less than 10 kts so who cares.

Moving along just fine

I will end up pausing this one also. Seems I started too late to be done when I need to this evening.
