Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus ....

.... and he looks just like Tango Romeo!

Tango informed me this morning that the long awaited A-1H's to be used in the Vietnam-4-CFS2 package are nearing completion. 2 USN & 1 USAF plus the updated Korean versions.

We had previously tried to repaint & upgrade the original FoxFour unit but were unsuccessful. (due to it's construction)

As "icing on the cake" I have learned all these models are multi-LOD

HOT DAMN!!!! :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:

Many Thanks to Tango, Sopwith and everyone connected with this project for their endless hours invested to produce these fine birds that enable us to bomb & strafe the living snot out of anything or everything ... anywhere in the CFS2 world.

GREAT WORK GUYS!!!!!

.................its been a slow crawl uphill, but thanks to Tango's indefatigueable work, we're on the last lap .....

Dirtman's pix are very early WIP shots - this is more like what you're gonna get ...............

They are up!

TR's new Skyraiders showed up this morning in the New CFS2 section at SimV. These are some very sweeeeeeeeet SPADs. There are three downloads on pages 12 & 13.

Korea & VN

I've been flying these ADs and the A-1 all morning and they handle very, very well, particularly in a dive with the airbrakes popped. She has a heck of a fine panel as well, with the lower panel (SHIFT+4 on the original FS/CFS keyboard) containing all the AP and GPS Nav goodies to get you around the Korean and Vietnamese fields in McClelland's Far East scenery that came with the Fox4 campaigns. Collin's Essex class carriers (CG's Shipyard) in 50s drag make great launch and land bases for the Naval versions too. And the payloads! Talk about your fire power. That Hell & Fire loadout is a humdinger. What a great way to spend a day off.

sounds for the SPAD

I know nothing about the proper configuration of the sound files but I took the B29 R-3350 Quad, which is the same engine as the Skyraider, knocked the cfg. down to a single engine ... and it works! Sure sounds like the SPADS I remember rather than the omnipresent "Zero sound". Maybe some gurus could tweek that?

Rock Crusher...........pa deux

Ok ...........no more blue........yeah!

Ok.........More detail...........yeah!

OK........a quick Rock Crusher paint job......Yeah!

Last weekend I messed around with the prop_us.bmp texture in TR's AD-6 to reflect the correct 1960's blade tip colors. I have attached the texture as a zip file, just unzip and replace your prop_us.bmp texture with this one. Thanks to TR, Sopwith, and all others involved for reworking and improving these birds. :)

Looks good

Thanks ...........

Had to try it out..........

With a quick trip around sunny PleiKu

More........Spaaaaaaaaadd

I am trying to bring back the Whazz Up...........

Only when you come on this thread you go.......

Spaaaaaaaddddzzzzzzzzz.......

I have a request.........

The fuselage has been seperated into three parts..........

The parts have become .........FSDS modelers know..........different

For textures........it may have been necessary to seperate.........

But.........after working on a model........... the parts points can become more and more seperated..........and you get texture shadow differential.........

I have had the same problem in my models..........

If you want a edge........it is best to bevel.......but I don't think it was intentional to create three edges along the fuselage.

and...

Once you seperate parts.........it is tough to get them back together.........the points tend to float apart..........and you get real bad texture issues
