A-1 Skyraider

"I have a request.........The fuselage has been seperated into three parts..........The parts have become .........FSDS modelers know..........different For textures........it may have been necessary to seperate.........But.........after working on a model........... the parts points can become more and more seperated..........and you get texture shadow differential.........I have had the same problem in my models..........If you want a edge........it is best to bevel.......but I don't think it was intentional to create three edges along the fuselage. and...Once you seperate parts.........it is tough to get them back together.........the points tend to float apart..........and you get real bad texture issues" It looks like Tango_Romeo has been getting lot's of complaints: http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1264368430

I am going to say somthing that will most likely upset a few people.I have seen some of the most outstanding aircraft for CFS2 with some of the worst looking pilots. The reason is that they are not to scale with the plane, they are eather to big for the aircraft or to small.Take this AD ,the pilot is way to small. The pilot should just about fill up the aircraft in this case. The other thing that I find some people doing , now this is just me,is takingoff and landing on a carrier with the canopy closed. Up to the mid fifties this was not the case. It didn`t make any difference what kind of weather it was pilots alwasy tookoff with there canopy open and landed with it open. The reason was so the pilot could get out of a damaged aircraft fast.

Bob,

CFS 2 has always suffered from scale issues. It first started with the oversize stock CFS 2 bombs and rockets. This caused the old VB aeroplane consortium to produce CFS 2 planes upscaled to fit the stock MS weapons. Heck even the stock MS cariers are not scaled properly.

Those issues are gone for the most part now as we have the FDG, DBolt, ISG4 and other properly scaled weapon packages and proper ships by AF, Colin, MAS and JMK, but you can still see discrepencies in the scale between the various hangers, trees and vehicles when building scenery.

Skyraider Truck.......

Here is a truck to go with your skyraider...............

When you Skyraider engine gets too many hours on it.........and it can't pass certification...........put it in your truck......

Curtiss Wright Engine drive this truck............now that's a truck

To add to what Jagd said,....there is a scaling problem with aircraft within the cfs2 engine. It scales to about .8 which makes the aircraft bigger then it should be (which is why you have trouble with deck parks etc).

Summat we have to put up with I'm afraid.

Rockster...dats a noisy truck.:icon_lol:

Ver. 3.0

According to a post by Tango_Romeo over at the SimV forum, the new MDL files that corrected the fuselage texture shadow are plagued by a horizontal stab texture problem. Result is he's gonna have to do a new set to be posted. Version 3.0 is apparently on the way.

............it looks not far off right to me ? ................:isadizzy:

Guys --

When I try to download SC's skins, I get a VIRUS!! message. What the h*^$#@ goin'n?

MARC

:isadizzy:.........just checked everything with AVG & Smart Clean - they all come up clean - overactive firewall perhaps ? (false positive?)

Anyone else had problems - I've had 4,000 + downloads with no adverse reports .........:isadizzy:

SC; I think that it is your host site. Some protection systems have the host listed as a known spreader of nasties. Recall a PM I had sent you?

:salute: .................OK, been doing some checking - box.net is an open file hosting system, so if people upload things which are suspect, or contain malware, (probably unknowingly) then that shared file will be infected ........ but you would have to download the infected file to have any issues - the site itself is clean ........

I think this is probably true of all open file sharing operations - the links I post go direct to my secure files, and since I have it set up so that only I can access the source files ( I do not allow collaborators ) everything should be hunky-do - box.net assure me that the links I post are secure

However, if you wish I can password protect all the files - that means that only Paintshop site members would have access ...........

(Hmmmmm I think I might do that)

........this probably explains it better than I can http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/showthread.php?t=58663

...............or I could just shut the shop and go away :pop4:

Save Some Effort

If you are updating your TR Skyraiders, you can save yourself some effort by downloading only the new MDL files in the post titled TR_AD_MDLs_3 in the New CFS2 section, ignoring the two updates prior to that on page 13. There were ongoing texture problems with all previous models. I tried them all, and the last set is primo. That TR is persistent.

Model just pops right in..........

I popped in the TR-6 ..............looks great
