Do you mind if I "borrow" that term for my next project?

Can you look at a plane in FSX and tell, just by looking, if the gauges are "3D" or not?

Many good-looking add-ons do not depict climb rates and manifold pressures correctly for example...:
Hi Bazzar
3d Gauges use XML to drive the animation and can be non linear
they are also not limited to 360 degrees of rotation
they can also be slowed down and tweaked to tell lies.

And what's with all the X's. UTX, FTX, REX, AFX, FEX etc etc etc.
BTW, one way to determine if a gauge is 3D or 2D is to zoom in on the needle point. As you zoom in on a 2D gauge needle you will see the bitmap pixels. Zoom in on a 3D gauge needle point and it will remain sharp as a tack no matter how much you zoom in.

..and so do many not so good looking addons, so the point is?

The point was to point out to those not in the "know" how tricky, gauge creation actually can be Mathias. I am sure you know too well.![]()

but 2d gauge creation isnt easy either, yet you dont see anybody useing, or ever have useing, "our super duper 2d gauge system" when 2d gauges where all the rage and vcs where still widley ignored![]()

Interested now?![]()
