Bruno's Mk V Tropical is up and ready to DL

Fantastic Spit! Its great to have a nativity built quad cannon Mk.Vc!

Now just a few nit picky things. On the Mk.Vc Spits, they should not be armed with four .303 machine guns in addition with the cannons. The C-model wing allowed for a combination of either four 20mm cannons, or two 20mm cannons and four .303. I added a .tct file which should make the Vc for the correct gun load out.

I also noticed that the guns are calibrated to fire in the downward stream, and you can't really use the VC gun sight effectively for gunnery. Easy to change with moving the eye point around and re-figuring the guns.

Here's the eye-point entry that looks a little better.

update:
VC, and VB .txt files are corrected dps, for gun load out and calibration. Guns are calibrated to cross at 500ft and have an elevation of 10ft.

Wulf,
nice to see picky customers !
Nevertheless, I beg to differ on the C wing armament, indeed had 1 or 2 cannons and 2 0.303 MG, as shown one the attched extract from the "Spitfire MkV Explored" DVD (amazingly detailed source by the way !)...:redf:
As for the guns calibration you are right, I calibrated them for the 2D panel as I mostly use that one... A matter of personal choice I guess, and thanks for providing an alternative for the 3D panel lovers :applause:

Bruno this is a plane that is a quantum leap for CFS2, absolutely stunning and flies like I expect a Spitfire V to fly. Is there any chance that you will give us a VC with only two 20mm cannon so that we Pacific fans can skin it in RAAF colours? Once again a truly superb plane :applause:

I think you might be confusing the 'C' wing with the 'E' wing Wulf which was fitted with either four 20mm or two 20mm and two .5s.

Maybe Watchdog, but be aware that I am very bad at keeping such promises, as I tend to fly away to other ideas each time I finish a project... Shessi knows, he's been asking for a Mosquito with radar aerials literally for years ! ;)

Always glad to help! I wonder what the 'standard' gun harmonization range was for RAF Spitfires. As for the configuration of the type C wing, to be honest I've never read anything that stated that four 200m cannons and four .303 machine guns could be mounted at the same time. All of the materials I have access to state that the type C wing could mount two 20mm cannons with four .303 machine guns, or four 20mm cannons.

Now, from you have shown me the configuration of four 20mm cannons, and four .303 machine guns is very possible. But I think I'll keep the .303 machine guns ditched on the Mk.Vc anyway. Besides, I'm already not playing fair with Jerry with four 20mm cannons. Why use bb guns when you have cannons?:d

Bruno,
I am totally captivated by the detail and feel of these models. Thank you so much. It feels like Christmas has come early! I must confess though that I am a bit confused. Maybe I am not reading correctly, but my reading of the README seems to conflict with the aircraft CFGs. In the README the MkVB Spits are listed as a 249 sqn machine flown by George Buchanan and a 601 sqn machine flown byDenis Barnham. The VCs are listed as Plagis (185 sqn) and Beurling (249 sqn). The Aircraft CFGs on the other hand put Beurling in a MkVB and Barnham in a MkVC.
Which is correct....or am I just:isadizzy:??!
cheers,
Mike

Mike,
it's the aircraft cfg which is correct, "U" was a VC, 601 Sqn, flown by Flt Lt Denis Barnham. That's the one with white dots on the wings, that Barnham had had painted to aid his flight forming up on him.
"TL - EP706" was a VB...
Sorry about the confusion...

Eccellent aircraft.

I find problems about frame rate also when the spit is flying alone as player aircraft (similar to those found on FDG P51B and never solved )
