Plagued with Tracking Cookie Warnings

Even without the browser running AVG could still be putting up the warnings. This little thread gives a solution.

Don't know what to say about the fan. Its the cabinet fan? Not the video card fan?

Chris

Chris,

1) Yes, it is the video card fan. I had the tower panel off to make sure.

2) In my Firefox settings, it doesn't allow the saving or customization of 3rd-party cookies. It automatically defaults to "never remember history." Perhaps this is a function of BetterPrivacy and Ghostery?

Well I wish I could have 4 hard-drives on this computer. One for the many CFS2 downloads...i.e. CFS2 Battle of Britian, CFS2 Battle of France, Malta, North Afirica,Madagascar,Dutch East Indies, Phillipines, AVG,and many others.....another Drive for Planes, Scenery, Missions and etc.....:salute:

Hey guys,

After mulling it over for a week, I decided to ditch AVG and switched to Bit Defender 2010, fully-licensed with the ability to install it on up to three computers. It even has a laptop version that is configured to run on less resources! It also isn't a system hog, and it covers anti-Spyware, anti-adware, anti-virus (all in real-time), plus firewall. Malwarebytes and Spybot (the latter as a backup, minus teatime) covers the rest.

Sorry, Dirty...but the last couple of months, AVG has provided about as much security at the Maginot line. I talked to a handful of computer tekkies that are good friends, and this was what they recommended to me. I'm still in the process of configuring it, but so far it's going well.

I gave up on AVG last year, been using Avast ever since on all our PC's (4) and it works well. Has a nice Silent Gaming mode too....I use the free version behind Hardware and Software firewalls...never an issue.
