IRIS MIG-29 glass fix?

I have also tried the F-15 Eagle (not strike eagle).
It works and displays almost perfectly. The only problems:
- incompatible gauge is the compas on the canopy
- the HUD goes crazy with certain roll angles (mainly to the left), but I suppose this can be replaced easilly.

Also, this F-15 does not suffer from the throttle problem found on the IRIS Strike Eagle (throttle blocked into MAX position). :)

All these fixes have been posted on my F-15 thread Daube!

to add in aircraft. cfg

[launch_assistance]
launch_bar_pivot = 13.500, 0.00, -4.25
launch_bar_lug = 13.500, 0.0, -6.25

the nose drops a bit - you have to play a bit 'values

Is there a possibility a total conversion kit can be published here?

I mean, not the whole aircraft, but a total file that converts the original plane to what you guy's have (a total package including the aircraft should not be a problem either since it has become freeware, if not mistaking?, all is needed is permission from the authors).

Unfortunately that looks doubtfull Warrant as the Panel fix includes payware gauges, namely from the Alphasim Mig 23, as well as gauges from Piglets AN32 and others! However Merida72 was nice enough to show me his panel.cfg and if you own these aircraft the conversion is pretty straight forward really!:salute:

It's such a wonderful aircraft to look at!

*Bump*

Downloaded the MiG-27 and -29 and applied the glass fix. Works fine so far, but I've given up on the gauges. I simply can't find enough working, matching gauges, especially for the Fulcrum.

Could someone post his/her panel.cfg, even if it references to payware stuff. Just curious if I've exploited every possible option.
So far, I've taken gauges from a FSX ported Su-27 but there's still some blank spots.

i am making a glass panel setup for it right now using stock gauges :salute:

I was thinking about that too, but not with stock gauges.
Would be much work (edit panel bitmaps, edit gauges)...too much for "just" (no offense) a portover.

I guess maybe I'm too dense to figure this one out but I have the Black Canopy on mine. I have looked through all my texture folders and they are bmps. there are no dds files. I also have this problem with their tornado f-14 p-40. could somebody please explain how to fix this in simple terms i have never fiddled with textures b4.

Many thanks

Just copy the new vc_glass.dds into your texture folder. Don't worry if others aren't .dds

As for the other planes must identify the texture corresponding with the freeware http://fly.to/mwgfx/ (or at least I use this) and follow the steps of these three images:

I forgot to save first .dds textures and alpha must reflect

in FSX

Black = 100% transparency

White = 100% opacity

Merida, I suggest you put that tutorial into a seperate thread (titled something like "How to fix opaque window glass in FSX SP2/Acc")

Mods, sticky that thread then.

This comprehensible tutorial is too good to just go under in a thread.

old thread ... but a good one ...

So went over to simviation and picked this up - never had a chance to fly this in FS9, so it was nice that it ported over somewhat ok to FSX, and at a good price ... :) the versions are also new enough that all the glass issues are well sorted.

Issues:

1) Navy K model - wings don't fold - they wiggle, but don't fold up. Applied a 1000 psi hydraulic mod, in case that was the issue - no go. Tail works ok, though.

3) Refueling probe - how to extent/retract?

thanks,

dl

The refueling probe is supposed to operate with the Water Rudder command. Shift+W maybe? And according to the kneeboard info the wings should work with Shift+F.
:ernae:

Thanks. Since I remapped commonly used commands to custom commands (eg: wing fold = W), maybe that's why it doesn't work.

Tried the water rudder, no go.

What's also weird is that whereas on the VVS model, I was able to get the AB to only come on when on full throttle - on this model (K), the AB are on 100% of the time that the lights are on. Commenting (//) out the one or the other of the AB-related light scripts didn't make it go away. The VVS/Soviet model is fine in that respect though.
