SOH ADMINISTRATION...Like a pack of Luckys..eh?...
CFS 3,man I hate that game. But for $7 buy it and try it,and the least they make very pretty coasters for your drinks. And until you try it you will never know if you like it.:d
And by the way,
Free IL 2- 1946
I have a copy collecting dust if anyone wants it email me....free no less.I will not be checking back here so don't respond here.
It is an original 2 disc set,not a burned copy.
There are far more planes, add ons, missions, etc., for CFS2 and not worth the time for me to learn a new set of tricks because of alleged greater video resolution/detail. If I get hold of at least a 3.4 gig box with a 1 gig video card I'll play with it, for now I'll stick with CFS2.

Well let's see here.
I ran CFS3 on a rig with 1gig of RAM 128mb video card and it ran very well with an avg of 50fps.Even with an intel video chip I got an avg 30fps.That's not even half of what you are talking about Tony. You should stick with CFS2 and learn the ins and outs of it.Maybe some day you'll learn to get the ai planes to do what you want them to do like I've done.
Talon
One thing is for sure Talon: I'm sold on Panasonic Toughbooks. This one is used for remote video surveillance, artwork, writing, and is the cornerstone of my little stereo system. CFS2 is my first love however, as you say, I'll park right here with it and hope I get some time to really get into its guts.
Take care of yourself

I agree with Talon both sims have their good points, CFS2 is primitive in terms of ground detail and weather, the night, dawn and dusk settings are stone age in terms of environment...and the steps needed to get the add ons to work are at a touchy stage, for there is a new better world mesh but it has no shorelines unless they are added by individual sceneries. And you have to add entries manualy to the list of text entries and make careful adjustments to the installed stuff to get it to work. I have not succeeded yet with some of the complex areas and I am not a novice to this all.
CFS3 has some great mods that greatly enhance areas , esp the Medditerranean theatre and the European one, and the Pacific and more is being done to add more.
So i guess both would be my answer too. Just be aware that CFS2 out of the box is very very limited ..in some ways...and you will need to learn the ropes to get it upgraded. But there are a ton of great planes, and add ons if you can spend the time to learn the ropes.
