Dino's F35 released!

A/B bleed problem

@ Chis H and Noddy

There should be an explanation of the A/B "bleed" issue in the manual FAQ, but, in short, it happens because the FSX graphics engine (and its implementation on some machines).
From what I know, changing the graphic card settings to maximum quality will help (actually should solve the issue on Nvdia cards - not sure about ATi).

If the problem persists, it is also possible to remove the custom afterburner effects. An experienced user could also shrink the effects by editing them.

I am sorry for the issue and I hope it doesn't spoil the fun too much.

A note about the price

I just wanted to say that, without the contibution of Jivko Rusev and Roberto Leonardo, and Scott Printz's authorization to use the core of his HUD gauge, it would have been impossible for me to deliver the product at the current quality level and price.

Roberto, Jivko and Scott's contributions were given to me for free - and of course they have not concurred to create the final price.
Once again I would like to thank them for their enthusiasm and help.

As for the price itself, I wanted to keep it as low as possible - as the target is to break even and then get some "funding" for my other FSX projects.
To keep the price low I had to cut some features (like the custom sounds) - and keep the project small (this is why F-35B and F-35C have been left out).

FSX, for me, is a hobby - I play it and design add-ons for fun, and I don't want to trade the fun for the profit.

Still, quality add-ons require more and more time, efforts and money. Much more than what I can afford at present.

I sincerely hope you like it, I am happy to see that customers appreciate it and I'm glad you find the price reasonable.

...now, I am waiting for the repaints! The repaintes have always exceeded my expectations in the past - and I can't wait to see what they will be able to create.

well said dino and thanks again :)

i to am waiting for repaints :)...also i would like to say thanks to gajit for helping me solve issues with frame rates on my system ....thanks man :)

Saw a potential issue on the map display. The map did not refresh automatically after a change in heading. Had to change the range for the map to correspond to the current heading.

Dino,
did you consider making a FSX native MB339 ?

Best Regards
Tom

I was thinking the same thing, today.... I know you have two projects pending, but a native Mb-339 would be perfect, this year, to celebrate the 50 years of Italian Frecce Tricolori!!! :jump:
BTW thanks for all your efforts to make us happy with Flight Simulator! cheers

yep couldnt say it better :)

during my Vacation in Lignano this year
15 August "W Lignano" Airshow the Real Team in Action

Wow nice workmanship and detail Dino:salute: this was well worth the money. Well off to Yellowknife with her to get her Canadian Maple Leafs and Vampire. One can Dream:salute:

First Flight

Just finished my first flight....................Good job Dino & staff..........Good job.:jump:

Just want to talk a little here . I flew her 4 times the day I got her,for a total of about 31/2 hours .She flys just great,figured out most of the switches and buttons. The only issue I have with her is the tunning (slight spin)on the ground,but I almost got that stopped by switching back to the ATI 10.4 driver ,can't explain why but it helped .

Dino....please thank the people who helped with ( my favorite)plane,for me .

When I turn lights on I get vapor over the intakes...........?

Pilot looks like..........Dino......perhaps.......?

That's because you're using the "L" key to turn the lights on. Don't use that, use the switches in the cockpit, they're on the furthest back panel on the left side.

I might as well add this because I'm enjoying it so much as well. :)

my mistake

Thanks Sundog :applause: you're right, cracking good, my bad dummy piloting. :sleep:

Thanks Txmmy83 and gajit for VC rexture change which seels to help fps greatly.

it absolutely look like a must have product but I will be unable to get it till september:banghead:

Best regards
Tom

I'm surprised we don't have 10 pages on this aircraft yet..... we must all be flying her.

Bought her last night, at a steal compared to the real deal, and she is fantastic. The MFD is mind-blowing.

The fly by wire makes her a little difficult to fly in formation, but I guess it wasn't designed for that.

As I mentioned previously, I've flown the F-35 simulator at the Lockheed Martin facility in DC (a demonstrator more than a simulator -- designed to encourage congressmen to buy the F-35). Dino's F-35 flies exactly as I remember the simulator. The fly-by-wire has the exact same feel, and it seems to have the same flight envelope. A very impressive piece of work Dino! KUDOS! I'd even go so far as to say that Dino's bird is more complete and enjoyable than the Lockheed sim -- now if only I had a million dollar cockpit mock-up.

Thanks Dino for the great Lightning II :salute::salute::salute:

Also getting the left-right rotation on the ground.... but I can live with it.

Chris

The fly by wire makes her a little difficult to fly in formation, but I guess it wasn't designed for that.

Go to this section of the code and you can adjust that, by adjusting the numbers I bolded. The numbers after the slashes, those slashes make them just comments the code doesn't read, are the original settings so I can reset them if necessary.

[flight_tuning]
// GENERIC ENTRIES
cruise_lift_scalar = 1.0
parasite_drag_scalar = 1.0
induced_drag_scalar = 1.0
elevator_effectiveness = 1.2 //1.0
aileron_effectiveness = 1.0 //1.4
rudder_effectiveness = 1.0
pitch_stability = 1.2
roll_stability = 1.2
yaw_stability = 1.3
elevator_trim_effectiveness = 1.0
aileron_trim_effectiveness = 1.1
rudder_trim_effectiveness = 1.0

It isn't anything Dino did wrong, it's just we all use different joysticks so the responses will be different for each of us. For instance, I have to reduce the roll power, because with my JS on landing I sometimes get a PIO in roll. It's due to the high breakout forces on my JS. So sometimes you just have to adjust those values so it works well for you.

Sundog,

Thanks for the info, I'll give it a try.... I wasn't trying to say that Dino did anything wrong at all, just saying that the fly-by-wire makes it a little difficult to fly in formation. To the contrary, it feels exactly like the lockheed-martin F-35 sim that I flew. The problem (not really a problem) is that this is simulating a force sensing stick and so at some point the computer has to go from not registering any force, to registering a certain degree of force and thus going from zero output on the elevator to some level of output.

It was difficult to fly formation on the real lockheed sim, and it feels exactly the same way in Dinos.... I'm saying that Dino got it just right.

I think that perhaps half down-trim would alleviate the issue for me.

Thanks again for the CFG info Sundog, and thanks Dino and Company for the F-35... having lots of fun with it.:salute:

Oh, I realized you weren't saying he did anything wrong and I was just making that point JIC someone thought I was trying to say that. As you said, the JS in the real one being force sensitive is quite different from what we're using and I do realize they are very responsive. It's just with the super stiff spring on my JS the breakout force is so high I end up over controlling if I don't adjust the aircraft config file.

I would love to be able to own three JS;

1) One of those new force sensitive JS for high tech jets
2) A standard JS without these breakout forces my X-45 has for older fighters and Warbirds and
3) A yoke for GA and large aircraft.
4) I also want that dual throttle, throttle quadrant that's available and new rudder pedals...

But with this little desk I have I don't know where I would put all of them :)
