What is it ?

So do I - including the subtype...

Note the grubby peasant sitting in it...

He ! he is sous lieutenant Georges Baptizet, GC II/4, 9 safe sure and 4 probable in 1940 ! He ends lieutenant colonel in 1956 and died the 5/09/1974.:salute:

31 mai 1940,
Men do not have time to make effects of dress and pilots often have a beret on the place of the cap when he are for the fight (and helmet).

Well, no problemo.

Now, the answer :
View attachment 17367
Bf 109E-1 6 white, Uffz Hager, 1./JG 76, put by mistake near St-Dizier, may 30 1940.
The plane is escorted by commander Rozanoff in CEMA to Orléans-Bricy for testing.
Rosettes are painting on black crosses for it transfer.

Maybe an intersting work for you.:wiggle:
Cheer.

You're right Nigel; Fred Scuttle's Secret War.

There you are!

(Je ne vois pas Rene Mouchotte - LE pilote francais de reference! - en beret de troupe!)

You can tell it's an E-1 or 3 by the early canopy - the E-4/7 canopy had the framing on the top corners, not on the side near the top like this. That means it's an E-1 or E-3. The E-3 had visible cannon sticking out of the wing, with breech-bulges below the wing, while this one has only ports for machine-guns and no bulges. So it's an E-1.

But I haven't seen photos or profiles of this particular aircraft before. Nice!

(Je ne vois pas René Mouchotte-LE pilote français de référence-en béret de troupe !)

Bien vue ndicki ! (seen well)
It's true that the dress is not very "class".:bump:

But, René Mouchotte began the war on June 17th, 1940 if you read his book "Mes carnets":
"Je viens d'apprendre par la radio l'incroyable nouvelle de la capitulation de Pétain."
We know the man whom was René Mouchotte and...he was dressed by RAF ! :icon_lol:

Well, for the Bf109, I have no other photo. Maybe somebody among the topic ?

Cordially.

André.

I'd be interested, too, if somebody has any more info. Bf109e-3 White 1 is well known, but there were others that fell into Allied hands before the end of the French Campaign.

Do you know about the Rafwaffe?

(Je vois que vous avez soigneusement ajoute les accents, cedille et ainsi de suite - ils manquent en effet sur mon clavier. Merci!)

Has anyone done skins of captured German aircraft other than the stock 109 and 190 available here? I know the allies captured a number of Luftwaffe aircraft throughout the war and evaluated them, especially the higher tech models later in the war.
