FS2004/FSX Boeing 314 Clipper. The Boeing Clipper was one of Boeing's biggest planes. Max speed: 192 miles per hour and 4 piston engines under 141 feet wingspan. Includes model, sound, panel, and texture. By Joseph Scavella.[/SIZE]

Hi,

Test performed ...
The new release had some oddities ...
The panel :) and in the panel.cfg provision made for callouts but the sounds are not provided
It was a PDF file in the texture folder...
All in all I stay with the Mike Stone model ... just my taste of course :)
See under pics and video comparison

I just compared the two of them and the "new" version is Mike Stones' model and the panel seems to be the FS9 default 747 panel.

Unfortunately they appear to be the same as Mike Stone's.
I have Mike Stone's original installer and the later release after he closed his website.

The model file and ini appear to be the same, the airfile appears to be the same and many of the textures appear to be the same - just the skin textures are different.

There is no readme or acknowledgement as to who created the model.

Alan/Dynasaur,

What plane is that on your Avatar? It has some nice lines on it.

Sorry to go off topic. The new Clipper looks brilliant. Love that high reflection aluminum skin.

That is a Beagle B165 Pup.( The forerunner of the Scottish Aviation Bulldog )
I used to fly that one about 20 years ago from Bankstown Airport. Semi aerobatic (no inverted flight ) but it did nice loops, stall turns and barrel, aileron and snap rolls. Fun little aeroplane.

I would really like someone to make one for FS9 or FSX

I just shot a message off to Mike to see if he's given this guy permission to rework the Clipper. I'll let you know what happens.

Many thanks! I am off to check it out. Some really nice lines on that plane. I am amazed I have never seen one before.

I hope Mike is doing well.

Seen these at KLAG in NY....They were magnificant.....in 1939 at the Marine air Terminal there!..These Pam Am Flying Boats were luxury flight First Class. The start of WW2 ended that era!......The NY Yankees "Joe DiMaggio" was called the "Yankee Clipper " then.....There is in our Sim world some scenery stops over areas in the Pacfic...lost mine..but now I will look for them..Any one knows where??.Thanx For The Memory!....Vin

Just heard back from Mike - he didn't give permission, but he's also not too worried about it anyway.

Not the point really. Still shouldn't be done. Not getting permission is one thing, as I believe Mr Stone is currently out of simming and therefore maybe out of reach, but not even giving him credit for his work in the readme. Joseph Scavella you're a lazy talentless t****r.

Considering Mike Stones site is closed down, is his latest clipper he did still available anywhere else?

Mike's original model is still available on Flightsim.com as are I think nearly all his other models
