• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

The End Of A Very LONG Era!

Thanks for everything, POSKY

There's every chance that, from the ashes, comes something great.
Here's hoping...

Hi,

Well ... now 1=2 ... the new Posky math :)

I read it the same way. Are they really closing or is just an ownership change. Then another site is morphing from it with both sites keeping all the files.

I hope they organize those files into something useful. Putting a plane together from scratch is like answering a final Jeopardy question.

Actually, now 1, then 3, as Hiroshi will also be splitting off and forming SpiritSky2010.

So from Project Open Sky will come

1) The new POSky
2) Free Sky Project
3) SpiritSky2010

Actually, Hiroshi has stated that after releasing the 767 under his own brand, he'll take some time off. He hasn't stated any further plans.

Well, the new math is making better(?) sense now - 1=1 again.

From Andrew McKeown:
I have also recently learned that there will not be a second group. FSPro is it. Unless the remainder of the posky membership can get it together FSPro will be the only group coming out of what used to be Project Open Sky.

This whole thing came about due to internal bickering. Andrew and two of the current moderators, along with more as yet unnamed non-Posky members, will form the new Free Sky Project. The rest of the members were planning to form their own group under the old name. From what I can read between the lines, it seems that the rest of the old group has either lost their motivation or contiues their internal bickering. There's some great talent in that group. I believe that one or two are planning to devote more time to school, but I certainly wish them all luck in the future.

Actually, Hiroshi has stated that after releasing the 767 under his own brand, he'll take some time off. He hasn't stated any further plans.

So I guess we won't be seeing his 787 anytime in the near future. Sad, but not surprised they imploded over there.

It's official now - the Project Opensky website and forum has shut down.

Project Open Sky is now offline and will remain so indefinitely. A deal has been reached where FSPro (Free Sky Project) will maintain what has become known as the Project Open Sky Forum and Website System. FSPro will continue offering the Posky files for download and offering supporting them as well.
Here's the FS Pro / Free Sky Project website - http://www.freeskyproject.com/
Thank you to all who were involved with Project Opensky for all of the fine work done over the years!

If you were able to login to the old Posky forum, then you should be able to login to the new one. Just be aware that there's a lot of bandwidth being burned up while files are being transfered. I managed to log in just long enough to reset my bookmark, but I'm now getting Page Not Found errors.
