As you may know, I recently moved to Brussels, where they have this very nice military history museum, including an extremely interesting aviation department.
This house some unique aircraft, such as a Fairey Battle and a Bristol Blenheim, but also, you guessed it, a Fieseler Storch. It is currently being restored, and you can more information on the restoration on site. Looking very good so far!
So I visited the museum today, to see if I could take some pics, and maybe try a repaint. Unfortunately, the aircraft, or rather the fuselage, is in a closed part of the museum, where part of the roof has collapsed last winter, so no visitors are allowed below the cracked roof (makes sense to park the Storch there then?), but with a bit of pleading, I was allowed in there to take some pics:

but of course I did not take enough, I'll have to go back I fear.
I was also allowed into the 'painting shed', where they are currently spraying the wings:

I love some of the details on this bird, like these opposition ailerons:

Does anybody know what these are supposed to do?
Anyway, I dabbled a bit with the 'paintkit' and this is the first result:

the camouflage pattern is not quite right, due to my stupidity of not taking enough pics, and of course this is very much work in progress, but so is the real aircraft, so I thought you would like to see this anyway.
Any word on a real paintkit, Francois?
