Landing Lights!

Charter Member 2014
I found out something interesting today. The Alphasim T-6 I fly on a regular basis doesn't have any landing lights! Is this normal? Is it possible that MY T-6 is somehow not up to snuff? Is there a way to make the LL work? Would a 3D Lights Redux set-up, assuming yhere isa one, solve the problem? I do not do much after dark flying, but a full set of working lights would be nice. What's a Warbird flyer to do?

andersel;
I found these settings for the Alphasim T-6 over at shockwave forums:

[LIGHTS]
light.10 = 5, 2.70, 9.00, -1.50, fx_Shockwave_landing_light // Shockwave light
light.11 = 5, 2.70, -9.00, -1.50, fx_Shockwave_landing_light // Shockwave light

PANEL.CFG
[Vcockpit01]
gauge49=shockwave_lights!SW Lights, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave light

Hope this does the trick.

This is the setup I use.

[lights]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
light.0 = 3, -1.33, -20.90, -0.63, fx_shockwave_navred
light.1 = 3, -1.33, 20.90, -0.63, fx_shockwave_navgre
light.2 = 4, -0.50, 0.00, 2.20, fx_shockwave_vclight,
light.3 = 4, -4.50, 0.00, 2.20, fx_shockwave_vclight,
light.4 = 7, -2.53, -20.60, -0.63, fx_ALPHA_T6_WTVortices
light.5 = 7, -2.53, 20.60, -0.63, fx_ALPHA_T6_WTVortices
light.6 = 9, 3.40, 0.20, 0.45, fx_ALPHA_T6_ExhFlames
//light.7 = 8, -5.00, 2.20, -1.00, fx_ALPHA_T6_DSw
//light.8 = 1, -5.00, 2.20, -1.00, fx_ALPHA_T6_DSr
//light.9 = 10, -5.00, 2.20, -1.00, fx_ALPHA_T6_DSb

light.10 = 5, 3.60, 9.20, -1.70, fx_Shockwave_landing_light_tail
light.11 = 5, 3.60, -9.20, -1.70, fx_Shockwave_landing_light_tail
light.12 = 2, -1.33, -20.90, -0.63, fx_shockwave_strobe
light.13 = 2, -1.33, 20.90, -0.63, fx_shockwave_strobe_2

Add these gauges to each of the panel.cfgs and you can turn off the landing lights by raising the gear.

Once again you guys come to the rescue of a stumbling FSer. And, once again, I thank you. Profusely.

racartron - I installed your 3D lights set-uo in my T-6 .cfg. Looks and works great with one small exception: The exhaust flame effect places the flames a couple of feet aft of the position of the actual exhaust stack. So, I went to the default cfg and copied the original exhaust effect co-ordinates and remarked out the ones in the shockwave set-up and pasted in the default values ( light.6 = 9, 7.80, 0.00, 0.05, fx_ALPHA_T6_ExhFlames). The flames are back where they belong.

I'm continually amazed with my ability to figure out this kind of stuff and to do the right thing to fix it without totally fouling up my airplane. Thanks again.

Just got around to checking this out and you are "partially" right. But I didn't change the settings for the flames. The config I posted was for the Texan which has a much longer exhaust. I forgot the Harvard exhaust is very short. So the effect would indeed be out of place on the Harvard. Sorry about the oversight.

Thanks for the HU on the lights for the Texan/Harvard. They work great and look great.
