SOH Team Project - Grumman Tracker, Trader, Tracer

Just out of curiosity, what is a "Combustion Air Inlet" doing on the nose? I'm guessing piston-powered APU?

Might be inlet for a combustion heater for the cockpit, similar to a Janitrol. Question: Was this still an USN aircraft or current "warbird" status? One cannot always count on planes on the air show circuit to have authentic original paint etc., including walkway stripes.

Cheers: T

As far as I know the aircraft is in warbird status if you look under the left engine there is a oil pan catching an oil leak. It was a treat to see a C-1 after checking out this tread in the forums for the past few months.

A guy here owns an S2 but it is currently at his small private srtip on a ridge South of town. His appears to be mostly fully unrestored (original faded paint) last I saw up close it a few years back.

Hurry up TG; folks are waiting. LOL

Just sent you the S2A CDF Fire Tanker version ready for the Paint Shop. :wiggle:

The E-1B Paint Kit - Will You Be Doing Re-Paints?

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?egemp0jnl6lfu2t

ok..... that should work if not i'll be fetching my much loved lump hammer...... files all end _1024 so i know the FS9 kit, so when saving remember to remove it, i also made the pilots 'suits' recolourable..... :salute:

Since Matt has posted the paint kit for the E-1B, I have seen no requests for the aircraft package.

If any of you are waiting to paint the E-1B, I would be happy to share the WIP version so you can test your work.
The major missing parts of the package are the panel and gauges. Otherwise, a complete package awaiting those repaints.

So, download Matt's Paint Kit from the link above, post here your genuine interest and intent to re-paint the E-1B, and I will PM you the download link.

Yah; Its a Janitrol. The CDF and Firecats didn't keep them in. The inlet is the round hole in the center of nose cap, the exhaust upper right side. You'll see a little exhaust stain on S-2s when they ran the heater.
Looks great. Really amazing.

The CDF Firecats did not even keep the windshield wipers. Allows for another half pound of retardant. :)

Hiya Milton...man, that C1A beta I got? The wingfold is really fast..were they that fast in reality? mid

Mid,

No, usually 20-30 seconds but if I set them up to go that slow, they get real jerky.

You can play with the timing if you like in the aircraft.cfg.
