A Lockheed "Rounder"

That's looking really great Milton. :applause: :applause:

Merry Christmas.

Pete.

Thank you Pete. Hopefully we can bring lots of New Year joy to the masses with this and the Lodestar.

Bravo Milton!:applause::applause::applause: Stunning! Your new Lockheed looks to put your awesome Howard 500 to shame!

The Howard was nice for 2003-04 when we built it but hopefully I have improved a little to make these aircraft even nicer. :wiggle:

Looking great there Milton!

(I still think the Howard is one fine looking aircraft!)

Looking great Milton. :salute:

One small item, don’t know if the Harpoon was the same, but on the Lodestar the engine nacelle bit that was attached to the flaps was closed at the front so it didn’t look like a ‘scoop’.

Merry Christmas.
Andre

Yes it is Willy; thank you.

Andre, yes, I remember seeing that now that you have mentioned it. Will correct.

I have only just come across this thread as I only fly in FSX these days. Would be nice to see a native FSX model as well. The RAAF used both Lodestars and Venturas during WWII so would be nice if I could get one on them.

Will keep checking in here now to watch progress.

It was too big for Gmail, so I just uploaded it here to the Warbirds Library in FS 2004 Other under my name. I'll ask Rami to give it a quick approval.

Willy,

Is there any chance of a link to that handbook. Looked in the Warbirds Library but cannot find it.

Harpoon Development Question

What do we want here in terms of equipment? Original equipment for full military readiness?

I assume turret, belly guns, observation glass, wing hardpoints, bomb bay doors, and nose mounted guns.

I need input before proceeding.

Whatever you decide to equip it with Sir, I know you'll give her the works!

Merry Christmas Milton. :)

Superb, Milton, looks just superb. If possible it would be good to see both the PV2 with guns and turret and a civilian (demilitarized) version without the guns and turret, like you did with the Grizzly.

I agree, that's the best of both worlds.

Well, since you are asking, here are the variants I would like to see. :mixedsmi:

1) Clean with only bomb bay doors:

2) Droptank version with turret, bay doors, guns, observation:

3) Droptanks with HVAR (empty) hardpoints along with turret, guns, etc:

4) Droptanks with HVAR (loaded) hardpoints (with rest of stuff):

5) Cleanish version with tank pylons and empty HVAR hardpoints, along with other stuff:

Thanks for the suggestions Moses. Sounds like at least 4 people have an opinion on this so far. :kilroy:

I will try to do a few basic variants but if I do 5 Harpoon variants, I wonder how much I have left for the Lodestars.

Okay, I have been side-tracked with panel work on the Avia 156 and updates on the Grumman products, but now ready to get back to the Harpoon.

Since there seems to be no one around who will volunteer for panel gauge work for FS9, I will either have to do it myself (just ordered FS Panel Studio) or release products without panels. :-/ I do not plan to do panel and gauge work.

Okay, here is a shot of the Harpoon before going into serious surgery.

Guess I'll throw in my 5 Cents worth, I like nos. 2 AND 3 best. Anything I can apply 3-color camo to is good though! :salute:

OK, now, back to work on my other project too. Too easy to get, as Milton has said, side tracked when "he" is making stuff! :icon_lol:

Over and out.

Thanks for the input so far. Please feel free to share your opinions as it at least tells us your are interested in the project.

I would like to keep the Harpoon variants to 2 or 3 max at least for now. The Lodestar is calling us as well. :wiggle:

I am no wizzard at creating new gauges but I do have FSPanel studio, and provided you intend to place the gauges on flat panes in the VC could probably put something together so you don't have to do it all.
I am however leaving for a two week vacation in the Fatherland on Saturday, so the soonest I could do anything on that end would be after the 15th.

I think the gauges used in the Grizzly should work as a basis for the Harpoon...with a few modifications maybe on the MAP and RPM scales and limits.

It's been years since I tried going backwards from a VC to a 2D panel....so I would not make any promises in that regard.

Cheers
Stefan
