If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

The auxiliary airfield Ruygenhoekwas built during mobilization between the dunes north of Noordwijkerhout. It was the base of the 3e Verkenningsgroep from April 9, 1940. By providing the area with dark lines, it blended in with the surrounding pastures when seen from the air. Yet the location of the base was known to the Germans. It is a mystery that Ruygenhoek was never bombed.
The airfield had a high activity in those days.
The 13 fighter aircraft were sheltered in camouflaged setups outside the landing area. These shelters used field vegetation, camouflage nets and rags. At 04.00 a.m. on May 10[SUP]th[/SUP] the planes were not ready to take part in the battle.

Hope you guys like it.
