I commented on this in The Newshawks topic, but the short of it is, if you're an aviation fan, you HAVE to see this. On the big screen, not at home on your TV. The CGI is just amazing.
And the "Maverick" maneuver you guys are talking about was the only egregiously non-realistic moment in the aerial scenes. II was pleasantly surprised at how generally authentic the combat felt. I've watched dozens of air combat movies over the past 40-ish years, and this has the most realistic air combat sequences I've ever seen, both from the standpoint of the combat and from how it looks. The scenes where you get to see what it looked like to attack a Nazi train from the cockpit of a P-40 are worth the ticket price alone.
