hello everyone,
Here are the first strokes of Conair Turbo Firecat future of French civil security. I hope you enjoy it. Another big thank you to Milton for his great work.

It sure is a good looking bird. Despite my preference for the radial engined Tracker, The turbo prop engine nacells really give the plane a clean, refined look. Very nicely done.

Early WIP of the S2T CDF work... Shes got the fuselage and nacelle panel lines and rivets on, things need to be toned back a touch still, but things are starting to come together :) Managed to start making serious headway now I found a break in the other project work I'm on. This girl should turn out real nice when I'm through...

Yes indeed; that is shaping up very nicely Firekitten. :jump:

Shes not been painted 'white' yet, so a lot of the tone will differ... redoing the rivets atm too, not happy with them... once the fuse is done, I'll be on the wings and tail surfaces, then its tone and shade time. Hopefully its going to progress pdq. I had looked around, but was unable to find any decent close ups of the s2t cdf version's wings... any blueprints around that I've missed?

Let me see what I can find here. Otherwise, TG72 may have something to help.

Hi Dave,

Could you update us on the status of your progress on teh military versions of the S2Turbo? What you posted last month sure looked great! :jump:

Hey Milton,

R/L has been busy, but I tinker when I can. Still working on another Argentinian Turbo Tracker with tail art. The prototype and one Argentinian bird are done. At least externally. I hadn't done any interior stuff as it should be the same as the radial versions.

I had thought to ask if Duckie would allow use of the wheel well textures from his S2F-1 and map the wheel wells for them instead of black. (Be happy to share credit, Duckie! I really liked those wheel wells.)

Did you map the static wicks to a generic black? The last revision of the mdl I got didn't incorporate that.

Dave

Yes, the static discharge wicks are mapped to darkgray.bmp.

The wheel wells are mapped generally to the blacktexture.bmp.
If you wish to texture them, I actually will have to replace them and remap for a boxed texture as was done on later variants.
Just let me know.

Thanks for the update. R/L rules. :)

Thanks Dave. Would be my pleasure to pay it forward. You may use them if you choose. :salute:

Just so you guys know why I do not typically map the interior of gear wells for details, I have never seen the insides except with the benefit of a camera flash.

Here is a composite of most of the pictures I have with aircraft on approach with gear down.

It's because of this that I usually just map for a dark general texture.

I will map otherwise when requested but I prefer the texture be darkened to reflect reality.

Whatever pics you need of the CDF S-2T, I have or can get :) just let me know! :salute:

I hope that everyone takes notice and advantage of the latest "Duckie" offer and contribution. Absolutely gorgeous! :applause::medals:

Thanks Milton (and Rami for the "bump"). The VSQ4 skin was actually uploaded to the library shortly after the -1 was released. It was posted to the library my Sir Milton during the huge peak of back logged entries of the library upgrade process spearheaded by none other than "M" himself. It just was not ID'ed as a "New Entry".

Many die hard fans of the -1 and the Dutch Navy did, however, manage to sniff it out though. Hat's off to you.:salute:

So, thanks again, Milton, for the plug, Rami for the bump, and fans of the Stoof for the downloads.

Marty, that is such a beautiful work of art. Wow! You will make the CONAIR fans very happy. :)

Marty, in FSX, you may need to download the "vcrainmoving" textures that were left out of FSX.

You can Google or search the web for the downloads. Or you might find them at FSDeveloper.com

This will be a beautiful addition to all our fleets.
Amazing texturework Marty.:salute:

It's really amazing what happens to the overall appearance of the lil' Stoof when you bolt a couple of turbo prop engines to her. Looks like a compleately different aeroplane, but a "Stoof" nonetheless. Like the man said, "This will be a beautiful addition to all our fleets".

Very nice! :guinness:
