How To Silence GPWS ?

I have recently installed GPWS3 by Rob Barendregt into a few aircraft.

All works fine - nice little addon - but the callouts are also audible in external and flyby views. Very annoying!

Is there a way of limiting the GPWS sounds only to the cockpit views?

Cheers,

Stuart

Stuart, I'm not familiar with the program - is there some kind of attached cfg?

Where are the sound files stored?

Nigel,

GPWS3 is an XML gauge, controlling the associated sound files in the main fs9 Sound folder.
Additional entries in the panel cfg point to that location. (Similar to your F-4 AB sound)
It looks like all sounds in the main sound folder are 'general' and are played back at a default volume in any view.
I have tried re-writing the panel cfg entries pointing to a different (aircraft / sound) location without success.
Having looked into other custom GPWS's - PMDG, PAD, etc.- they all work the same and show this issue.
This seems to be another one of those FS limitations.

Regards,

Stuart

Use the "Q" key! :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol: (Sorry Stuart I couldn't resist).

Perhaps you can write Rob an e-mail. When it is an xml file it norrmally looks at a condition and triggers an action. In this case a wav file. It might be possible to add the condition that you have to be in VC view before the wav file can be triggered. But as said that's something to ask Rob.

Cheers,
Huub
