Piper Pacer Super Pack, releasing!

He means this which is on the bottom of the page on your site:

Question: My electrical system dies after 10 to 20 min's when I have Nav lights or Auto Pilot running?
Answer: We found a bug issue. The Generator wasnt assigned in the config file. Please see the Patch
above to restore your electrical system charging. There is a simple fix for this with an optional download
patch as well.

Probably just an error.

It really is a very nice airplane. It's certainly the closest I can get in FSX to my old Chief. A bit faster though! :)

I also have the problem that I can't turn the key. This makes it hard to start or turn her off. I also have FSX Gold w/ Acceleration, so that may be the issue. I'm hoping this can be fixed.

Also, could someone tell me how to alias other sounds? I really don't like the Maule sounds. Far too quiet.

This airplane sure fills the bill for a very well done classic that has a bit more cross-country speed than the A2A Cub.

Thanks for trying again,
But I still get an error message, even after refreshing the page several times. If you pm Rami, our librarian he could help with uploading issues.

Cheers,

Roger.

Hi Roger

G- ARHT is now in the SOH libary - sorry about the hassle with the link.

Installed and just finished my first flight from Anchorage down to Hope. What a great little plane and scenery pack, many thanks to Bill and the rest of the team :applause::applause:. Will be hangaring my Auster J1 for some time and switch to the Pacer for my flights around the FTX CRM area.

I also have the the starter key issue some others have reported so I'll give my input to the troubleshooting questions:

* Special wide screens? NO
* FSX or P3D FSX
* In full screen mode or windows mode? Tried both, same in each
* TrackIR running, or another device for looking around? No
* Have you tried mousewheel? Yes, no result
* Are you parked next to fuel depots? No

One other idea for an update at a later time would be to have the wind noise increase when you open the windows. Don't know how others feel about it but I enjoy it on the aircraft I fly that have that built in, a little thing but it increases the immersion level.

Now off for a flight in the Skylark, another beauty from your shop, will have to alternate between it and the Pacer.

Al

Hello Folks,

same result for me:

* Special wide screens = NO
* FSX or P3D = FSX Gold + Accel
* In full screen mode or windows mode? = NO for both
* TrackIR running, or another device for looking around? = No
* Have you tried mousewheel? = Yes, no result
* Are you parked next to fuel depots? = No
Tried also several seat config, doesn't work at all, so this is not very good for run up checks...

@griphos concerning the alias; open the aircraft sound folder, you should have a file name sound.cfg, open this file and read, do the same other aircrafts with the proper infos OR copy/paste the entire sound folder into the desired aircraft folder, eg: copy the A2A cub sound folder and paste it to the Pacer folder, don't forget to, either, delete or rename the sound folder who came with the Pacer.

@Bill; is it possible to have the Bush panel cockpit with the Tri Pacer, in other terms, is it possible to "mix" the panels and aircrafts ?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers.

Hey Dave,

There is not patch for a generator. Could you be talking about a different plane perhaps?

Bill

Just looked at the FAQ again and it is not there now. Guess your webmaster caught the error and removed it. Most likely a copy and forget to remove from another plane when creating the page.

Thanks,

Dave

Love the Alaska scenery Bill! I found those darned campers up on the glacier! BTW, I also love how you can "clean the windows" and select how much dirt and bugs you want. That's a nice touch. In general, I like clean windows, and it's nice to have the option.

@Yankee

Thanks. So, I changed the folder name in the sound.cfg file. But, if I just delete or rename that file and copy the contents of a sound folder I like over into the sound folder of the Pacer, that will work too?

I also have the non-clickable ignition key issue. Win7 (64bit), FSX with accl.

- Paul

Same issue with the key here. FSX Accel on Win Vista32.

Otherwise, one of the best packages ever experienced in FSX. I love how she flies and looks. :applause:

Thanks guys for the feedback on the non-working key issue.

Still working on a fix. Its odd as that is the same key and code I use for all my planes, lol. Same.... Now its not working on 'some' computers. arrgh... We'll find out why and get it working.

Thanks all for the kind words.

I want to thank Wayne Tudor and Dave Ronaldson who kept me inline, informed, and up to date with all the things the Pacer was in need of. At times, they really pressed me well on aspects of the plane, it needs this, it needs that. They are former Pacer owners and lovers and I feel without them, the package wouldnt be what it is. So thanks to those guys as well.

Hello,

Sorry, i don't folllow/understand you concerning the folder and cfg stuff, be carefull...
well, i use the A2A cub sounds too... i only renamed the Pacer sound folder by sound.bak (if you want to switch back just delete the .bak) by doing so, the sound folder does not work, b'coz of the .bak add.
Then copy/paste the entire A2A Cub sound folder in the Pacer folder of your choice, that's it.

YankeeRomeo is on it.

Its terribly easy. If the sound folder in your plane (such as the Pacers) is called 'sound', then just drop in another planes 'sound' folder into this one. Its best to backup your existing 'sound' folder by renaming it. Right click it, rename to 'Backup sound'. Next, copy/paste another planes 'sound' folder in and Voila. Bootup FS and test it out.

If the other planes folder has a different name, like 'sound.F15', etc, then copy it in and rename to 'sound'.

You can also bring in basic sound components from other planes, such as flaps sounds, door sounds, etc. Just make sure the sounds are renamed per the sounds used, or they will not work. The sound 'WAV' file must match the sound assignment string in the sound.cfg' file.

Terribly easy.. :)

Interesting...

The switch works great in Prepar3D.

How very odd.
I believe every plane should be tested in FSX/Acceleration because thats what the majority of users have.Don't take this as a slam,as I have and love every plane Bill has made.It's just my thoughts.

Thanks Thoe, but it was tested in both sims.

Also, the code is FSX born. I use the same one (code) in 'all' of my planes, lol... Thats the odd thing.

I will be doing some more compiling tomorrow and see what comes up.
