Sibwings An-2 is released

Do we have to go to a cold start? When I switch to the An-2 I have engine running, morse code letter H is repeating and moving the cowl flaps switch with the mouse and roller does not increase or decrease the cowl flaps at all...same with the oil shutter. I can find no mention of audio signals in the manual so I've no idea what the "H" means. I'm wondering if I should have checked to see if there was a quick start option as I just don't have the time to pour over the manual in it's entirety.

might be the radio altimeter, left side console, front most dial, you can set that to whatever height you want it to go off, and it'll beep at you till your above that height. The main switch controlling it is the far right upper one before the co-pilots panel starts.

btw ... you can also break the gyros if you do a couple of barrel rolls :icon_lol:

aircraft selection problem

Have posted at SibWings forum but thought i'd ask here too,if anyone can help?

Aircraft appears in FSX aircraft selection screen and i can select all variations and preview them.
However, when i select the aircraft i want to use i get a small window centre of screen which briefly says "loading" then FSX shuts down!! :(
Have uninstalled and reinstalled twice now, same result other installed aircraft work ok!

1. Did you register your name (email) and serial number that was emailed to you? A prompt should have appeared near the end of installation?
2. Does this happen with your anti-virus/malware protection turned off? I see a small window pop up when selecting the aircraft for a slip second when I load it, leading me to believe that it's "phoning home" for piracy protection, but I could be completely off base with that assumption.

yeah registration prompt appeared when installed
my AV was on both times, will try with it turned off but probably won't be until tomorrow now!
Thanks for suggestion, worth a try

Got to admit I was one of the people who wondered why on earth any developer would do this plane, let alone 2 developers. After seeing the price I had to give it a try, if only to support Sibwings. Sure glad I did! :jump:

Can't wait to see the repaints for this one. I am hoping someone can do a winter camo scheme, even if it is fictional. I think the white/grey/black would look really good on it.

Think i may even have a dabble with this one ... bet the office at SIBWINGS is in a frenzy and now wonder what they have created :icon_lol:

Now just to get those cockpit fans going ... could get warm in that glass house :icon_lol:

ijay ,

Did you see the little window that is hiding behind the main Blue FSX loading intro screen asking to allow :

.....\SibWings\Service\swservice.dll & ..... GAUGES\swan2.DLL.

My install hung up on the intro screen of FSX...( registration & validation as discussed above all went normally )... and it just sat there with that little circle thingy spinning 'round & 'round for minutes until I remembered that another install sometime ago did the same thing.
Put your mouse down on the task bar and see if there is another window behind the main FSX intro window.... ie; Windows 7 64-bit...

Ian, NZA is apparently a clothing company in Europe...
http://www.nzanewzealand.com/

I guess it's the sponsor for that specific aircraft. What a misleading name for a company....

You and me both... I was wondering the connection myself! ;)

See the bottom of the previous page of this thread, I just posted the NZA explanation. :)

EDIT: Side note, the addon comes with a updater that will check for updates and install them. I believe it's in your Sibwings file folder directory.

Yep, under SibWings/AN2/Updates/Updater.exe! Tried it... no updates yet! ;)

I saw this An-2 on the field... slipped the guy $20 bucks if I could just sit in the cockpit! Next thing I know, I was up in the air! I saw a video on youtube on how to start this baby up.
I know I missed some stuff, but hey... it's in the air... for how long who knows! :icon_lol:
