There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.
If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

That was lovely, to see all the planes starting one after the other; real airfield commodity. And funny, that cigarette box sliding from here to there in the cockpit, and the pin up. Your flying close to the other planes gave me a strong impression - a "real feel".
Reading your last post, I understand now, what you're going for. And I must admit, I envy you a little - wish I had P3 too already. (But I think, now it's soon to come.)

I just wondered, if the damaged gun bus would have managed to fly on, if you had not turned to the right, thus breaking the air flow and stalling the right wing ? Anyway nice damage to see at the wing tips !
I just saw another historical video, which showed not only jumping up and down during rolling (you would not call this taxiing, would you lol?), but the planes were also "rolling" along there "length axis" during starting or rolling out, so one or the other wing would almost touch the ground. The plane was indeed rolling and jerking from side to side badly, especially when very slow. Don't know whether this would be possible to do in P4 ...

That was actually a DH2 Catfish. The gunbus was a Vickers I think ? Yes it could have flown on with some difficulty but I wanted to show the stall/spin effect.
Olham .... Pup's vs DV's perhaps ? That would be challenging. Or maybe not lol. Actually I really should fly and video the German crates but I find it hard to do that .... as you may do with the Allied kites ? I know it's only a game but .....
The best thing about this forum is it brings people from different nations together in a (mostly) friendly manner. We have OFF to thank for that.
Pity it didn't happen in 1914.

No, I have flown the S.E. 5a, the Camel, all Nieuports, and the SPADs; and I will start a British alter-ego "David Marlowe", when I'm through the German carreers. But I'll only fly S.E. 5a, Camel and SPAD - the other planes are just underarmed (nice flying, but for fighting?)
You could just create an imaginative alter ego, that wasn't much different from an English, French, Canadian or Australian airman. In those days, you wouldn't have thought so political and critical as we do today. No Radio, no T.V. You were called to the "line of duty", and you fought for your country. You admired fair and good opponents. You'd even drink and laugh with them, when you captured them. They all liked beer and brandy. They all were, deep inside, afraid of a young death (and for many that was the outcome).
Forget the parodies (OvS' avatar, Richthofen in "Blackadder", moustaches and monocles, and all that Hollywood stuff) - just imagine an average sport of those days. Give it a try.
And when you still feel better on the other side of the "mud", there's nothing bad about it. We can't get out of our skins (or so - a German saying - do you say that too?) :ernae:

Pretty good Oldham, I know just how you feel. I fly for many sides (can't seem to fly for the French though) and it just 'feels right' flying for the German side.
But, you left an important factor in the comeraderie, and that is no matter what side, they were pilots and there's always a special brotherhood among pilots.
