Confused about the 486th Fighter Squadron...

Easy Flier,

Many of those SOH those are links to the "old" library.

Gary 20 glider: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=17&id=8609

The B24 Guy C47 (update included): http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=52&id=5866

FDGv2 P-47: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=52&id=14046 (This is the same one from the 486th, ignore the "Japanese" missions this time)

Morton's skins: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=57&id=1077 (This one is correct, it should work)

B-17ai: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=52&id=5029

Ju-88c-6 nightfighter: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=54&id=16309

When Paul Rebuffat's site went down, I uploaded his aircraft here, and included the update in the original upload.

G-10AS: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=54&id=15631

G-14AS: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=54&id=15632

Akemi's links should still work, but since we moved them to SOH, I'll give you the links here...

A-8: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=54&id=18023

D-9: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=54&id=18022

Easy Flier - I was able to find these by cross-referencing and doing searches in the new library. Using the search page, I used these usernames...

http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links_search.php?action=search&tabid=446

Akemi
PRebuffat
gary20
Farmboy (This is a tough one to guess)
Morton
Bismarck13
The B24 Guy
FDGv2

Sorry to bother you again but I've looked everywhere I can think of for these, but can't find or I'm not looking in the right place.

Paul Rebuffat’s Bf-109g-6 Update V3.1http://www.myzone59.com/rebuffat/updates/G6v3_bulge_update.zip
Paul Rebuffat Messerschmitt Bf109g-6/R6

Where is the old library?

Easy Flier,

First, you're welcome for providing you with those links.

Second, given the fact that I mentioned in the previous post that "I uploaded all of Paul Rebuffat's aircraft to SOH, and included all the updates," you no longer need the bulge update.

Please download this model for the G6R6: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=54&id=15626

G-6: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=54&id=15624

Also, if you look at the previous post, I listed a username of "PRebuffat." To me, it would be a logical leap to perhaps look under that username using the search feature.

Please give it a try!

As far as the "old" library, that had suffered a major crash a few years back, and was a major security risk for hackers. It was decided in 2011 to rebuild the library from scratch, and then later in 2013, the old library was shut down. The problem is that anything that uses the older links comes back void, which is why I update my campaign readme files frequently.

That's why if you know the username of the uploader, you can use the search feature to find it.

Thanks,

Thanks I looked under that user name, but didn't know not to look for that update.Probably caused by Oldzeiemers

Sorry I won't try to bother you again except an emergency/crash or something

Easy Flier,

This is not my goal. I am trying to teach you and others how to use the new library, using the information you already have to find what you need. If I can find it, I know that you and others can. You just have to learn where to find it. For example, in the 354th, the objects you need are very similar to our e-mail exchanges about Achim's airfields.

There may be some things you can't find from time to time, but I'd like to see if you and others can find them on your own more often than not. It's a learning process. I'm trying to teach you how to fish instead of just providing you with one, you know?

I have been looking for JHS_various_fields_II and JHS_various_II_update.
Can someone direct me to the right locations for these two files?
Or are they included in some other file?
Thanks John:jump:
P.S. I am working on 354FG CAMPAIGN

John,

They do not exist anymore. When Achim first created his packages, he released "various fields," and "various fields II," etc. They were often in conjunction with my campaign releases at the time. Many of these packages would later include an update for various reasons.

When the new library was created, for the sake of convenience, and quite frankly, sanity, the airfields we reorganized into more "conventional" packages by country.

For Captain Kurt's campaign, you'll probably just need four...

England: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=45&id=3352

Northern France: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=45&id=3351

Belgium / Holland: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=45&id=3342

Germany: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=45&id=3344

Easy Flier,

Welcome back! To answer your question, please see the post "scenery" by John Pierne. I explained that there was a reorganization of those files when the new library was created in 2011.

You will only need four...

JHS_Germany
JHS_UK
JHS_FranceNorth
JHS_BENL

The links are in the other thread. I will ask Captain Kurt if he can update his readme, or perhaps he can let me do it.

...YOU ARE RIGHT! The "various fields" does not exist. As Rami stated it was incorporated into Achims newer fields. Just get his new fields and use them. Then just delete the entry for "various fields" in your cfs2 ETO scenery.cfg.

Pay attention that a lot of the planes are "aliased" to sound and panel files you may not now have. Unless you already took care of that.

Fibber

Those 4 Rami posted and I already have are not the correct ones?

As for as sound and panel files, I have replaced all of those as I don't like that aliased thing.

Thanks

Easy Flier,

Remove that "various2" scenery layer and you should be pretty good...I can take a look at your scenery.cfg file if you want me to double-check.

Easy Flier and others,

By the way, I asked Captain Kurt if he would update his installation instructions to reflect changes to the file links so we can avoid some of these complications in the future. He said he would start doing this very soon.
