Just Flight Yak-50

I like it. Very aerobatic but had to up the elevator trim in flight tuning to 5.0. However even after a scan of the manual I can't get the gear to retract. I know that the usual "G" key doesn't work but neither does the retract lever in vc.

you have to close the main air cock on the floor left side of pilots seat.


Love this plane and have been wanting one for a long time. Even comes with a local guys paint scheme.
 
Always wanted to add a 50 to my virtual hangar, but will have to wait until the end of the month. Wasn't someone building a freeware one, or am I mistaken? I usually am!

Will have to get this one! My friend Alex Pisarenko (SWingman) also has one in development, which it too will be superb.

Whenever I think of the Yak-50, I always picture this one (one of the several which have become sort of "stand-ins" for warbirds by those that maybe can't afford one (note the spinner and three-blade prop)):

do you happen to have any news on the Swingman Yak-50? I found a thread here that petered out in August last year...

This one was definitely under my radar scan . I picked up the news via ADX... it looks quite a little corker.

And 16 quid is not really a bank-breaker either... it is going to be hard to resist. Probably great fun for throwing around above Thessaloniki or Skiathos :)

Alehead, the last update I saw was from mid-October in which he had the instrument panel completed. I believe he is currently mainly focused on his very detailed Russian airfield scenery, UUBN (which he is also creating some AI aircraft for (Yak-18T, Yak-52)).

Will be taking this Just Flight model for a spin, shortly. ; )

I am totally impressed by everything with this aircraft. The visuals are superb, and the sounds are excellent - clear, throaty, loud, and very true to the real engine. There are also many special effects sounds, and sounds for every switch and nearly every control in the cockpit. The flight dynamics are also very accurate, compared with what I would expect/was expecting. The aileron response is instant, and it has a very fast roll-rate. The rudder is also very effective, and hammerheads can be performed with quite a bit of ease.

All of the switches and controls function in the cockpit, and just about everything has a sound connected to it. As has already been pointed out, it has a very accurate modeling of the landing gear operating system, requiring air pressure to be 'on', and the use of the landing gear lever on the panel, which has three different positions (including neutral, being 'off' for when in-flight). The aircraft comes with a very detailed user manual, with operating procedures which must come straight from that used with the real aircraft - with the expectation of following them correctly with this simulation.
