• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

C-97 BETA now available for download!

Almost finished with the base layer PK, if anyone is still interested. No stencils, no markings, just the base for those who want to paint over top. will be available soon as PS PSD's. A fresh canvas if you will....

I love these new textures. I know some are holding out for the '97L but many were using the G as a lead up. Thanks to all for the ANG versions, looking for more... (sorry, just greedy) I love flying this aircraft.

I'm with you usafvet. These new textures are awesome and more are coming, including another paint kit (from DaveQ) in addition to the one from MJ and Team, as well as the one from Rick.

Looks good dmq, but I think the blue US Insignia, and lettering looks slightly faded ( may be the effect you are looking for) but nice to see a left coast bird. And thanks Duckie, like the Montana bird, with the new prop warning line. I hope the AI will use the outside textures of these aircraft, will be nice to see them lined up....
 
Here's the natural metal shaded one. A bit plain Jane but looks quite realistic. Uploaded here and Flightsim.com as usual.

PS - I've opted for a black US AIR FORCE - seems to fit with natural metal but I could be wrong....!

Can any talented please please please be kind enough to paint this livery as seen below for KC-97? Thanks. IAF first used that livery for KC-97 but switched to no name livery later.

Sorry, Aharon, but I have not. I went back and revisited a couple of textures I was not happy with but it will be done today. Just watch this thread and I'll say went it's done. Thank you for asking.

Navigation makeover

With a huge thanks to Bill (WND) and Marc, we now have a much improved Nav section. Picture shows me (me!!) flying toward Inverness using VOR1, VOR2, ADF and AP Navlock. The VOR gauge is an adapted version from the default Cessna 208B. It will be available as Patch2 soon.

Hey Duckie: There are files missing from your latest KC97G repaint (0151).

propdisk,dds; texture. cfg; & C97_05.dds.

It's possible that those can be copied over from another texture. For sure the prop disc and texture.cfg can. The other may just be a common texture also used by all the liveries.
 
Hey, Jim, I did not include those files in order to help reduce the download file size. Those files are in are in Manfreds original texture set which you are supposed to make a copy of. Please re-read the installation instructions in my readme file and follow the copy and paste process described there and you should be good to go.
