Acwai Hurricane Burma Skinpack 1 for CFS2 by UncleTgt
This is a collection of repaints for the Hurricane models made by Acwai for CFS 2. They depict aircraft used by the RAF in Burma & the CBI. This pack focusses particularly on aircraft flown by Frank Carey. These repaints are meant to be used with the Hurricane Trop mods for AcWai's Hurricanes that I uploaded recently.
The textures are:
Hurricane mkIIB trop
BE171 YB-B MkIIB trop operated by 17 sqn RAF, flying from Mingaladon, Burma, early 1942. Although a 17 sqn aircraft, on the 29th January 1942 it was piloted by the CO of 135 sqn, S/Ldr Frank Carey. Often depicted in Desert camouflage, I concluded it was mostly likely one of a small number of aircraft finished in Dark Green/Light Earth camouflage.
Hurricane mkIIC trop
BN468 FRC MkIIC trop used by Wing Cmdr Frank Carey, CO of 165 Wing RAF, & operating from Dum Dum, near Calcutta, India, during October 1942. Although written in campaign narratives as "FR-C", I felt this was unlikely as senior command figures were allowed to adorn their personal mounts with their initials, but in the few examples photographed these are always in smaller letters than normal squadron codes, & always ahead of the fuselage roundel & not split up.
BN468 FRC MkIIC trop usually flown by Wing Cmdr Frank Carey, CO of 165 Wing RAF, & operating from Chittagong, India, during January 1943. On 23 January it was used by F/Sgt Frank Wilding of 136 sqn RAF to claim 1 + 1 prob ki-21. The same aircraft as above, but with the red removed from the roundels (but still carrying a fin flash).
To install, unzip the download to a temporary location & move/ copy files to the matching folder names inside your chosen CFS 2 install.
Thanks to
Acwai for his excellent Hurricane models.
