This package contains alternative textures for the Albatros D.III model, done by Stuart Green. They show the Albatros D.V as flown by Ltn Paul Bäumer when he was with Jasta 5. Paul Bäumer was a German ace credited for 43 victories.
When you think “what a familiar name” you must have read the book “Im Westen nichts neues” (All quiet at the western front) or you must have watched one of the movies made after this book.
After the war Paul Bäumer became a dentist and one of his clients was Erich Maria Remarque. When Remarque wrote his novel about his experiences at the western front during the first world war, he took the name of his dentist for his main character. When the novel was published in 1929, Bäumer had already died in a fatal crash while testing a fighter prototype in July 1927.
The model done by Stuart shows an Albatros D.III, however this aircraft flown by Bäumer was a D.V. As the differences between these versions are small I considered it acceptable.
