• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

This is a repaint for the payware Alphasim Bristol Blenheim. To use it you should have a legal copy of this model.

The repaint depicts the Bristol Blenheim Mk.1F L6616 from 600sqn, RAF Manston, May 1940. This aircraft was flown by Squadron leader Wells on a mission to Waalhaven airfield Rotterdam, during the German invasion of the Netherlands. From the 6 aircraft which took part in this mission only one was able to return to Manston.

From the 13 crew members involved in this mission only 6 survived. From these 6 survivors, 3 survived the war. From one the fate is unknown. The 7 men, who died, never came home as they are all buried in near Rotterdam. The airfield Waalhaven was not rebuilt after the war and is now part of the Rotterdam Harbour. At the location of the former airfield you can find a small monument to remember the men who took part in this sad mission.

Credits: Alphasim for creating this timeless model and Martin Wright for his wonderful dxtbmp, without which these textures would not exist.

I'm aware the model is a Mk.1 and not an Mk.1F. But this was the closest available, which could be painted in a reasonable resolution.

Enjoy,
