  • Special Server Maintenance

Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated Tom Clayton has offered to post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

From 1939 to 1943 Watton was used by the RAF as a light bomber airfield. From 1943 to July 1945, the 2nd Air Division was placed in the 3rd Strategic Air Depot in the adjacent Neaton, servicing and repairing B-24 Liberators. From April 1944 to July 1945 Watton housed the 802nd Reconnaissance Group (Provisional), a weather photo recon unit that operated over the Atlantic Ocean and later by day and night over enemy occupied territory. From 9 August 1944, this was renamed as the 25th Bombardment Group (Recon) with B-17, B-24 and Mosquito's of the 652nd BS (H), 653rd BS (L) and 654th BS (P). The 25th BG (R) flew a total of 3,370 sorties for the loss of 15 aircraft.

Enjoy.
