This scenery is a continuation of my previously released 50s and 60s versions of Soesterberg. We are now focusing n a specific time, July 1970 when RNLAF F-104's of the 322nd Squadron from Leeuwarden AB (EHLW) were temporarily assigned to Soesterberg while the Runway at Leeuwarden AB was undergoing maintenance. So for the next several months they operated from Soesterberg. Also present are the Alouette III's of the RNLAF 298th AOP helicopter Squadron. Also present on the Dutch Side is the RNLAF 334th Squadron flying the Fokker F27-100 and -300M Trooper carriers.
On the USAF side of the base: In 1969 the 32nd Tactical Fighter Squadron converted from F-102 Deltadagger to the F4 Phantom II. This also initiated several major changes to the USAF Side (New Amsterdam) of the base.
