This package contains a repaint for the FS2004 model of the Fokker D.VII by Stuart Green. The repaint shows the aircraft flown by Ltn d R Wilhelm Leusch. Wilhelm Leusch was a German ace credited with 5 aerial victories. In October 1918 he became commander of Jasta 19. His aircraft painted with a yellow nose and a blue fuselage, which were the unit's recognition colours. His personal marking was a fire breathing dragon, which was based on an advert from the machinery factory Unterberg & Helmle from Durlach/Karlsruhe. Having survived four years of war, Wilhelm Leusch died in a peacetime glider accident on 14 August 1921, aged 29.
To use this repaint you must have the Fokker D.VII by Stuart Green. This model can be found here: https://sim-outhouse.org/sohforums/resources/sg_fokker_dvii-zip.15011/ .
These textures were tested at the CFS2 conversion of this model by Martin Klein. But sadly the textures don’t work at the converted model as there is a conflict which makes part of the model transparent. Martin found out that the textures can be used once they are converted in dtx1 format, however this makes the textures less sharp.
Some parts of these textures, like the perfect propeller were taken from the IL2 Rise of Flight Fokker D.VII templates.
First of all I want to thank Stuart Green for this beautiful and timeless model and making it available for us less talented. I want to thank Martin Klein for testing these textures in FS2004 and cfs2 and his encouraging words. And finally I want to thank Martin Wright for his graphic tools which were used intensively to convert these textures.
Enjoy,
