My first foray into Nigel's paint kit, so kept it simple...here for FS9 (I don't run X, sorry) is Nigel's Avro 646 Sea Tutor dressed as an aeroplane operating in Netherlands East Indies @ 1941- Feb 1942;

You'll note it has no 'orange' rudder and no marks on top of the wings; this is correct for the time period.

I found a reference on IPMS site that stated part way through 1941 these were removed as aircraft were still being shot down by friendly fire (although how one confuses a bright orange triangle with a blood red roundel?)

After Feb 1942 the national tricolor marks were applied.

So... how did this one end up in Netherlands East Indies.... entirely plausible it was one of the Kwangsi aeroplanes, that made its way to the N.E.I and was impressed into service under new management. The serial number '53' is a bit fanciful (besides it meant I didn't have to adjust the donor texture too much) ; but is representative of an impressed aeroplane; where the number was equal to its position on the list of impressed aeroplanes (as far as I can ascertain) , so this would be the 53rd aeroplane impressed into service.
