• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

  • Server side Maintenance is done. We still have an update to the forum software to run but that one will have to wait for a better time.

FS2004_AVRO 626 'Prefect'

By Nigel Richards and Team

The package comprises: The unfinished final 'beta' of Avro 626 'Prefect' the all-purpose trainer; in the markings of the last surviving example in RNZAF museum at Wigram. (One of four purchased in 1935)

*FS9 Only* but should port-over to X ; Please respect this and don't ask for a conversion as it's not my field of expertise.

Released as-is with permission from other team members; as sadly it appears Nigel is not in a position to complete it, it has the most recent .air and cfg files Magoo and I were working on when Nigel went internet quiet; the previous set are included as backups

NO paint kit...however, with a bit of trial and error paints for the Tutor could be adapted. This completes the series of Avro biplanes: 621, 626 and 646 created by Nigel.

Historical notes;

1) Most of the later build RAF Avro Tutors were actually built as 'Prefect' versions, but without enlarged fuel tank capacity and the 3rd cockpit faired over.

2) The 3rd cockpit was used for both navigation/radio training and gunnery training; due to aeroplane C of G limitations all 3 cockpits were never occupied at same time.
