P3DV4+ Kaman K-1200 K-Max 2026-09-27

This unique single engine twin rotor helicopter is a heavy lifting powerhouse. Only the same size as the Bell UH-1/205 Huey, the K-Max can lift some 2,000lbs more than the Huey, and roughly 1,000lbs more than the twin engine Bell 212. The K-Max can lift an impressive 6,000lbs. In other words, it can lift it's own body weight. This is due to it's unique coaxial rotor design. Despite being powered by a single engine, the rotor system negates the need for a tail rotor and heavy transmission. Therefore, all engine power goes towards lifting power. The K-Max however is a quirky helicopter due to this design. The rotors are in fact made out of a laminated wood design, unlike most modern helicopters with composites and steel blades. The K-Max also employs trim tabs on the rotors due to them being fixed pitch rotor heads. They translate up to 20 degrees up and down during flight, but employ fixed wing aerodynamics for forward flight. This is accomplished by horizontal stabs on the tail boom and rudder on the tail rather than using a pivoting rotorhead. The rotors are also opposed 90 degrees from one another. This pack houses 4 different variations of the K-Max. A ski-wheel version, non-ski, and two tanked firefighting models. The aircraft are also equipped with P3D's built in hoist system to allow for heavy lifting/logging operations. Firefighting must be done with FireFighterX. I have taken the original model and updated it significantly for P3D, adding bump maps, 4k textures, PBR, new rotors and rotor effects, plus many other additions. Pack comes with paintkit, operator liveries for Helicopter Express, HeliQwest, Black Tusk Helicopters, Superior Helicopters, Rainier Helicopters, Rotak Helicopters, and Timberline Helicopters.
