146-200 Jetliner at Justflight is out (Payware)

Martyn - can you help re paint kit please?

I have spent 30 mins trying to find where the "open" rear gear cowling needs to be placed once painted. I also find that the other gear cowlings are not layered for shadow, dirt etc. Without help i cant finish this one.

Is anyone else doing any paints anywhere do you know?

Beautiful looking plane!

Love the massively detailed exterior. I still think that VC is awesome....

+1

I broke down and did the purchase after seeing these screen shots. It's certantly better modeled than many payware. May not be for the purists out there, but a nice sim nevertheless. Great 3D interior lighting effect through the passenger windows at night. At least it's not another 737! :icon_lol:

Open gear doors go to BAe146200_int2.dds tile. In paintkit there's a layer group named "Main gear Door Open" which has the shading, dirt etc, just place the paint below these in that particular group (above "white base copy 3"). Unless of course you happen to use a paint program that does not support Photoshop layer groups.

and there is no proper layering for the engine painting.

Engines do have their own very well layered paint templates.

Hi

Thanks for that. I have already found all those files but cannot make the paint slip under the detail in any shape or form as you would a normal paint kit . There is no whitebase copy 3 in the kit i have from the download. I do quite a bit of re-painting you know! Have you managed to use it yet to achieve results using the kit that is supplied to customers?

Edit

In fact - i dont have a lot of those fuselarge layers in my kit so no wonder i cant do it.

Yes same thing as with gear doors, the engine paint goes to the second lowest layer in the particular "engine group", and gets placed below details. There is own group for each engine side. Hope it helps. I'm not sure if PS Elements fully supported layer groups, if that's the prog you are using.

Hi Bushpilot

Yes im using Elements- thanks for that.

At least i know not to bother anymore with it.

Cheers

Well that's a bummer. Grouping keeps the layers neat and tidy. When there are hundreds of layers, grouping is very welcome.

What I could use, are wing templates. They would come very handy considering that STA-paint, which has camo-patterned wings.

I think i will do an Aer Lingus version - Elements can cope with anything other than the underside.

I have to say that Im keeping it in the hangar just for the external model which is excellent. However - does anyone find that the external cockpit windscreens are missing on some repaints?

I noticed this as well.

Nice one Barnes:salute:

TABA is now uploaded, didn't do the G-SSHH demonstrator version, but PT-LEQ.

Also in the works: STA-paint. Engines and wings still need to be done. I know for certain that wings are a b*tch to paint with camo pattern, because of their layout. So it might end up with plain green wings.

That looks fantastic! Move over S-2, I've just found a new COD aircraft.

Yes, I think camo suits this bird very well. I think I'll reduce the shading/shininess for the final version and add some slight fading and weathering. And when/if JF releases the Freighter or STA model, I'll update this paint accordingly.

Thanks Flavio!

STA paint is now uploaded. Had to do all kinds of trickery to get this done, but I think it turned up quite nice. Wings are plain green, maybe by the time we get the QT model, there will be proper wing templates, and I will reconsider doing camo-wings.:mixedsmi:

Added extra dirt and weathering, removed shiny parts and excessive shading and modified some details.
