My Dad.
He was a corpsman in Korea during the conflict.
He was there during two of the bitter winters, when men were freezing to death.
He never talks much about it, but from the pictures he took, I know he endured quite a bit.
Almost 4 years ago he was diagnosed with Lymphoma.
It was caught early, and chemotherapy had put it in remission.
He had a small spot on his leg, last fall, that ended up being a very rare, but non-fatal form of Lymphoma that can occur in skin layers, minimum radiation took care of that.
A scan this last spring showed absolutely nothing remaining in his body.
Early this week he had another scan as a routine follow up.
We met with the doctor yesterday.
To be blunt, his Lymph system is lit up like a Christmas Tree.
It's come back with a vengeance in just 3 months.
Almost 10 years to the day my Mom was diagnosed with fatal cancer.
He was immediately admitted to the hospital.
Right now as I type this sitting in his hospital room, this he is undergoing a Bone Marrow biopsy to see if that is where the Lymphoma is hiding.
A tumor was also discovered in his neck, that he was completely unaware of, and that is being removed as well.
They really feel he couldn't survive a bone marrow transplant, so unfortunately that is not an option.
This time around is looking to be pretty rough, with the chemo...again.
He can't do outpatient chemo again, he'll be spending 4 days in the hospital, every three weeks, for the next six months.
I'm asking for prayers, and if you don't believe good thoughts then, for my father.
Please.
Thank you.
