3RD Round with Lymphoma - Requesting Prayers and Thoughts

Dain Arns

My Dad.
He was a corpsman in Korea during the conflict.
He was there during two of the bitter winters, when men were freezing to death.
He never talks much about it, but from the pictures he took, I know he endured quite a bit.

Almost 4 years ago he was diagnosed with Lymphoma.
It was caught early, and chemotherapy had put it in remission.
He had a small spot on his leg, last fall, that ended up being a very rare, but non-fatal form of Lymphoma that can occur in skin layers, minimum radiation took care of that.
A scan this last spring showed absolutely nothing remaining in his body.

Early this week he had another scan as a routine follow up.
We met with the doctor yesterday.
To be blunt, his Lymph system is lit up like a Christmas Tree.
It's come back with a vengeance in just 3 months.
Almost 10 years to the day my Mom was diagnosed with fatal cancer.

He was immediately admitted to the hospital.
Right now as I type this sitting in his hospital room, this he is undergoing a Bone Marrow biopsy to see if that is where the Lymphoma is hiding.
A tumor was also discovered in his neck, that he was completely unaware of, and that is being removed as well.
They really feel he couldn't survive a bone marrow transplant, so unfortunately that is not an option.

This time around is looking to be pretty rough, with the chemo...again.
He can't do outpatient chemo again, he'll be spending 4 days in the hospital, every three weeks, for the next six months.
I'm asking for prayers, and if you don't believe good thoughts then, for my father.
Please.

Thank you.

.................Prayers on the way right now.............

Dain, very sorry to hear about your Dad. Chemo takes a lot out of even a young person, not to mention an older person who's fighting another round. We'll keep him in our thoughts and prayers.

He's now on my prayer list Dain.

May God bless him with fully healing and getting rid of this desease. May he endure the next several months easily and strongly.

Thank you everyone that has responded.
I truly believe the prayers are being answered.
He has started this morning day one of chemo.
Seems to be doing much better this time than the first time around.
Probably because it takes longer to do the infusion.
I know he's getting pretty bored being in the hospital already.
Thank you again for the support. :wavey:

Dain~

Remain strong in your Faith~

I will be praying for you, your Dad and your family.

Good news to report.
His bone marrow biopsy came back negative.
That is a great relief.
He is responding good to chemo.
Again, thank you for all the prayers and good thoughts. :wavey:

Dain,

Sorry this is the first I've seen this! Glad I saw it as a report of good news!

Petitions ascending on your behalf.

he will be in the thoughts of me, and my family. We'll say a prayer for him at church on Sunday.
