• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

  • Server side Maintenance is done. We still have an update to the forum software to run but that one will have to wait for a better time.

A fine idea?

I often visit the UKMIL forum, my other home. One thing I like about iti s there is a 'thank you' button at the bottom of every post, click it and the poster gets an acknowledged thanks.

How many times have you read about an upload, raced off to get it and forgot to return to say thanks? I know I'm quite guilty of this, youDL it, get carried away with it and before you know it it's time for 'zzzzzzz' This makes a single click gesture possible just before you race off to try it.

Anyone think this is a good idea, dunno if our forum software even supports this feature, I'm guessing no as I'm sure we would have it already :d

And a typed message would obviously mean far more.

JD,

We have the "Rate this Thread" option available to forum members in the tool bar above the first post in the thread. If a thread answers a question or has a good tip, you can acknowledge it by giving it a star or two (or three or four) with it. I guess it would kind of be like saying thanks.
