SOH-CM-2025
Last night I was digging through some backup drives for something which, of course, I never found. I did come across one drive that was a flight sim backup. I found airplanes, scenery, side apps for everything back to FS9 (2004). I had backup of P3D starting with P3D V3. I even had an early attempt at high res scenery that I bought from PCAviator. It covered the entire country.

I thought the timing was interesting, I am planning on deleting MSFS 2000 today from my flight sim computer. I have a 4 TB M drive for the Simulators and it has less than 500 Gb left on the drive. 2020 just duplicates a lot of the stuff on 2024.

Since the last updates I have found MSFS 2024 to be pretty solid in Free Flight, which is all I fly. I am not buying anything that isn't MSFS 2024 compatible.

Yeah, I’ve gotten to the point with FS2024 that I haven’t been flying FS2020 at all anymore. Almost all of the sceneries and planes from 2020 are solid now. It’s almost up to what was promised to ship last year.

I think once SU3 ships we’ll be at the point where people can safely shift over. (At least as far as free flight goes… I’ve been sticking to NeoFly for career stuff since I can fly all my planes.)

I’m only flying in MSFS 2024.

When they (Microsoft/Asobo) announced that anything purchased from the Marketplace for MSFS 2020 will work in MSFS 2024 with the exception of a few things that are only fixable by the developer and the caveat that they might have to apply an upgrade charge $$$, I switched to making ALL of my purchases from the Marketplace.

Now I purchase almost exclusively airport sceneries with a handful of aircraft.
I now have about (227) 3rd. party developer’s airports running in MSFS 2024.
I have only (9) of them that are giving me problems like missing terminal buildings, missing hangers, pink and blinking textured areas, terrain LOD’s at the runway edge’s that chase my aircraft down the takeoff or landing runs.
About 5 of these airports, located in the state of Washington, give me an aggravatingly long load times > 7-10 minutes before the sim is ready to “fly”. When they do, they are perfect with good FPS, maybe a stutter here and there.( now who makes the best little to medium size airports for the flightsim community).

Of note, a large number, > 50 or so were direct “copy & paste” from the MSFS 2020 Community folder to my MSFS 2024 Community folder, with the rest being “streamed”.

I have paid a few “upgrade” fees (small beans for me) but I still wrote their names down, if you follow my drift.

I am Very happy with my airport sceneries ===>>> now somebody get to work on my hometown airport KBHM, or KPIT, or,or,or,or………..😡

I have not “streamed” any of my 3rd. party aircraft yet.

I forgot to clarify my statement about “streamed”
Most of these remain in the “Unverified” status but they have little or no problems on my end!

There are a few airports in the Marketplace that are listed as permanently incompatible or other type of statements that I have not “streamed”
