You're looking good there Matt.

IMO, time spent on an awesome VC is time thoroughly well spent, as I'm quickly discovering in the Avia.

Looks like we both have plenty of office work to get done.
(always more fun when you have a buddy doing the same thing). :salute:
 
cheers buddy! yeah detailing the VC is fun, so much to be sometimes 'rammed' into such a small space...

as for now... well, i'm on a hold as it's 1104 in the morning and my post-breakfast snack time... i'm thinking borrowing some vine leaves off my grape vine for you know what! :icon_lol:
 
D'oh! hmm ok... will do what i can, going to put some white strips at approx the 0-25-50-75-100 % throttle marks roughly, if that seems a feasible idea, guys if anyone has some panel photos, in particular around the Throttle can you please throw them in here so i have something a bit more to go off? apologies Milton, this Laptop has a love for losing files... it somehow managed to lose my book i was writing also... them little black gremlins are at play again.... :icon_lol:

EDIT: i had a thought! they may still be in my e-mail inbox, i think i archived them....

EDIT of the EDIT: Found it, straight shot down the middle of the pit! looks like i have what's visible already on, apart from below the mid central 'flick' switches i know they're 'Active.............' though what the words below it are i have no idea.... will dive back to the research on them, look at similar aircraft types and see if i can find out...
 
I will dig them out and resend; no problem. About finished the mapping the XP47H right now. Give me an hour.

no rush i'm deciphering what this switch is for, i've seen it on other types but can't recall where... 2 switches both travel in a 90* path from horizontal to level with what looks like a 'rocker' in the middle... will crop to that area, see if the others here can't help us out some, as i say it's about all that remains text wise in the cockpit as i noticed there were no Throttle markings... :salute:

EDIT: here we go i cannot make out whether it's 'ACTIVE' or 'AC TYPE' and then the 2 letters below it... can somebody let me borrow their glasses? :icon_lol:

EDIT: Small Double Switch markings should be like this: Off L R Both
 
Seeing how the toggle switch is located between the prop-feather buttons I would guess that the toggle might be used to

a) activate auto-feather if the aircraft was so equipped
b) activate the actual feathering system in conjunction then with the red buttons ( less likely in my opinion since the button guards already prevent accidental activation by the crew )

The prop feather buttons in that picture are in a non-standard location; they are typically on top of the ECU.

The switch is the battery power and the dual switches are magnetos.
 
Ok that's better, now we're well and truly cooking on Gas! i even had a full nights sleep... woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed about 4h ago and have firmly embedded myself in the cockpit... as such we're starting to see the ECU get detailed as it should be :) still got mock fasteners and plates to add, but it's coming alive!

Lockheed 18 Lodestar Airfoil sections;

Wing root airfoil, NACA 23018

Wing tip airfoil, NACA 23008
 
The 23018 is what I used for the Harpoon. FS does not allow you to directly use a separate tip foil, the foil characteristics and curve plotted affect the lift and induced drag and pitch vrs AOA manners but not the tip effects which regard stall and lateral control. These are approached indirectly through separate entries.

Worldofkrauss.com had the best collection of airfoil lift curves and drag polars, but they seem to have gone off line. Curves are still findable, with effort.

Life is what it is. Our virtual fun and games should never take precedence. Heck, I am retired but I still can't do this everyday. I have been kicking back a bit myself lately. It'll get done when motivation returns. :wiggle:
